Craving steak? 𝐅𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 is the place to go ~ Serving lesser-known cuts of beef, it’s actually a bit more affordable (<$75pp) while still being of good quality. Here’s everything we ate:
𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐆𝐘𝐔 𝐌𝐒 𝟗+ 𝐑𝐔𝐌𝐏 𝐂𝐀𝐏 ($𝟓𝟔) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The rump cap is a thin roast from the top of the top sirloin that is topped with a layer of fat. We got this medium rare as recommended and we liked how the fat has this mildly charred taste that goes really well with the meat itself!
𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐆𝐘𝐔 𝐌𝐒 𝟖/𝟗 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐑 ($𝟔𝟓) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Denver is less fatty than the rump cap (which I preferred). Got this medium rare!
𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 ($𝟕) & 𝐑𝐀𝐂 𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐄 ($𝟐𝟎) ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This was alright. The cheese was quite shiok at the start but after it while it hardens so it’s less melt-y!
𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐒 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐒 ($𝟏𝟒) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Charred to perfection 👍🏼
𝐏𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐑É𝐄 ($𝟏𝟎) ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This was alright. Nothing particularly special but not bad either.

If you’re new to Wagyu or prefer steaks cooked medium rare to retain the juicy, rich blood essence, the Rump Cap is an excellent choice with its crispy-fatty layer that adds a unique charred flavor that pairs well with the tender beef. For a slightly leaner option, the Denver cut is still wonderfully juicy and hits the mark at medium rare.
I highly recommend complementing your steak with their fried Brussels sprouts, which I found perfectly charred and a great balance to the richness of the meat. The classic pomme purée is serviceable but not a standout, so consider trying alternatives or skipping it if you want to maximize value. The sourdough with raclette cheese is enjoyable at first but can get a little dense as the cheese sets, so eat it while warm for the best melt.
Fat Belly's location is cozy and perfect for an intimate night, especially if you want to enjoy great steak at a price point lower than many typical steakhouse experiences that often push $100 or more per plate. It’s also a great introduction to Wagyu for those unfamiliar, as the grades (MS 8/9 and MS 9+) offer impressive marbling and tenderness that justify the cost. For steak lovers who appreciate the nuances of cooked levels and the bloodiness of rare to medium rare steaks, this venue provides a memorable and wallet-friendly option.
