Well, beyond being one of the most recognizable symbols of New York, it's primarily a bustling office building, housing numerous businesses across its many floors. But for us visitors, its magic truly shines through its world-famous observatories. It also serves as a crucial broadcast tower for many of the city's television and radio stations, making it a vital part of NYC's infrastructure. What's really in the Empire State Building that makes it so special? As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by its stunning Art Deco lobby, a masterpiece in itself with intricate murals that tell the story of its construction and the machine age. Before you even head up, there are fantastic exhibits that walk you through its incredible history, from its rapid construction during the Great Depression to its pop culture moments in films like 'King Kong.' And if you're feeling adventurous (and it's open), the 102nd Floor offers an even higher, enclosed perspective. It’s not just seeing the city; it’s feeling the pulse of New York from above. The architecture style itself is a huge draw. It's a prime example of Art Deco, famous for its sleek lines, geometric patterns, and rich ornamentation.
