... Read moreYou know, making these sweet potato fries at home has been a game-changer for my snack cravings! I used to think I needed to deep-fry them for that perfect crisp, but my oven-baked method proves you really don’t. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about making a healthier choice without sacrificing flavor. Why Sweet Potatoes Are So Good For You Beyond being incredibly delicious, sweet potatoes are packed with nutrients. They're an excellent source of beta-carotene, which converts to Vitamin A in your body, supporting vision and immune function. They also provide a good amount of Vitamin C, manganese, and dietary fiber, which is great for digestion and keeping you full longer. So, when you're munching on these fries, you're actually doing something good for your body! Tips for Ultimate Crispy Sweet Potato Fries! Want to take your oven-baked fries from good to absolutely *amazing*? Here are a few tricks I've learned along the way: Don't Overcrowd Your Pan: This is crucial! If your baking sheet is too full, the fries will steam instead of roast, leading to limp results. Use two sheets if needed, ensuring there's space between each fry. Soak Them First (Optional but Recommended!): For extra crispiness, soak your cut sweet potato fries in cold water for about 30 minutes before seasoning. This helps remove excess starch. Just make sure to pat them completely dry before tossing with spices! A Touch of Starch: Sometimes, I'll add a teaspoon of cornstarch to my spice mix along with the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. It creates a thin, crispy coating that's just divine. Spice It Up! (Flavor Variations) While the classic mix with onion powder and cayenne is fantastic, don't be afraid to experiment! Smoky Chipotle: Add a pinch of chipotle powder for a spicier, smoky kick. Herby Garlic: Mix in dried rosemary or thyme with your garlic powder for an aromatic twist. Sweet & Savory: A sprinkle of cinnamon or a tiny dash of maple syrup (added after baking, or just before for a glaze) can elevate the natural sweetness. Dipping Sauce Ideas to Elevate Your Snack What are fries without a good dipping sauce? Here are some of my faves: Creamy Sriracha Mayo: Mix mayo with a dash of sriracha and a squeeze of lime. Avocado Ranch: Blend avocado, Greek yogurt (or vegan sour cream), fresh herbs, and a little lime juice. Simple Ketchup or BBQ Sauce: Can't go wrong with the classics! These little additions make such a difference, turning a simple snack into something truly special. Give them a try and let me know your favorite combinations!

Pro tip don’t add oil. Makes them very soft or at least not the amount I did 😂😂
