Tacoma
Hey travel buddies! I just got back from an incredible trip to Tacoma, Washington, and I'm so excited to spill all my favorite finds and must-do activities with you. Before I went, I was curious, 'What is Tacoma known for?' and 'What are the best things to do in Tacoma WA?' Trust me, this city is a hidden gem with so much to offer, from stunning art to beautiful nature and unique attractions! First off, you absolutely HAVE to visit the Museum of Glass. Tacoma is famous for its vibrant glass art scene, largely thanks to Dale Chihuly, and this museum is an absolute masterpiece. I was mesmerized watching live glassblowing demonstrations – it’s such a unique thing to do in Tacoma! Right next to it, don't miss the Chihuly Bridge of Glass, an outdoor pedestrian bridge adorned with incredible glass art installations. It connects the museum to the downtown waterfront and offers amazing views of the city and Mount Rainier on a clear day. It's one of those Tacoma tourist attractions that truly makes the city special. For a dose of nature and family fun, Point Defiance Park is a must-see. This huge urban park has everything! I spent hours exploring the beautiful gardens, walking along the scenic trails, and visiting the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. It’s perfect for a leisurely afternoon – definitely one of the top things to do in Tacoma, Washington. If you're looking for fun activities in Tacoma, this park offers so much variety. Car enthusiasts, rejoice! The LeMay – America's Car Museum is another fantastic and unique attraction. Even if you're not a huge car person, the collection is impressive, telling the story of automotive history in America. It's a surprisingly engaging way to spend a few hours. And let’s talk about the waterfront! Ruston Way is perfect for a stroll, bike ride, or enjoying some delicious food with a view. There are plenty of restaurants right on the water, offering fresh seafood and stunning Puget Sound vistas. It’s a lively spot and a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. It's truly one of the best places to go in Tacoma for atmosphere and dining. Looking for something a little different? I loved wandering through Antique Row in downtown Tacoma. It’s packed with charming shops where you can uncover unique treasures and vintage finds. It’s a fun, low-key activity and a great way to experience a different side of Tacoma. For more outdoor adventures, Titlow Beach Park offers amazing tide pooling opportunities and beautiful views of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. So, if you're wondering what to do in Tacoma or what makes it worth a visit, I hope my little guide helps! It’s a city that blends art, history, and natural beauty seamlessly.
