2024 has been a year I’ll never forget—a whirlwind of unforgettable moments, painful trials, and incredible triumphs. Let me take you through the highs and lows of this transformative year.
The Highlights: The Light in the Storm
✨ Exploring the Country: This year, I traveled to places I’d only dreamed of. Every destination gave me fresh perspectives, new stories, and cherished memories.
✨ New Experiences: From trying new foods to meeting incredible people, 2024 was filled with opportunities that reminded me to embrace the beauty of the unknown.
✨ A Major Victory: After a tough journey, I’m finally in remission from metastatic adenocarcinoma! This is a milestone I’ll carry with me forever.
✨ Graduate School Begins: Starting grad school was a dream I thought I’d never get to chase. Despite the challenges, I’m here, and it feels surreal.
The Lows: Lessons in Strength
🌧️ Diagnosis in January: The year began with a devastating diagnosis of metastatic adenocarcinoma. It was a moment of fear and uncertainty, shaking the foundation of my life.
🌧️ Immunotherapy and Complications: A month of immunotherapy led to a rare autoimmune disorder called Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease. This meant countless hospital stays, pain, and a recovery that took nearly five months.
🌧️ Surgery and Recovery: Surgery was only the start. Healing, both physically and emotionally, was a marathon I wasn’t sure I could finish. But I made it.
Reflecting on 2024 -
This year tested my limits, but it also showed me my strength. While I never asked for the battles, I’ve come out the other side more resilient, grateful, and ready for the future.
