Tomiko Higa's Thin Book of Memoirs, a Japanese girl at the age of 7 who was separated from her family and had to try to survive the war that broke out on Okinawa Island at the end of World War II alone.

It's another book that tells about the events of the war through the perspective of a child... who was the first to find out that it was about the Japanese during the war on Okinawa, so I bought it, because most of it was more about the European side.
The content tells of Tomiko's life with his family in 3 moments.
(1) The period before the war reached Okinawa Island.
(2) The period when Tomiko was alone in the war.
(3) The post-war period, when Tomiko was an adult and was out looking for the photographer who took her picture.
Overall, it's an easy-to-read book. The content is concise. It's very good to read the thoughts and feelings of a child during the war. Read and want to hug Tomiko tightly. I don't know what it would be like if I stood there, including the mind after the war... but I'm glad that Tomiko was able to get through that point and write us about his experience.
