Hecky naw. Brain break baybeeeee
As a nursing student and mom, balancing schoolwork with family life can be incredibly demanding, especially during the summer when there’s an expectation to keep pushing forward with classes or additional work. Taking a brain break, like choosing not to enroll in summer classes, can be essential for mental health and overall well-being. From personal experience, utilizing summer as a time to rest rather than overload my schedule helped me return to school with renewed focus and energy. It’s easy to feel pressured to keep up with continuous learning, but our minds and bodies need downtime to process previous knowledge and reduce burnout. This decision also allows valuable family moments that might otherwise be missed. For nursing students juggling clinical hours and study sessions, these breaks can be a rare chance to connect with children and loved ones without stress or distraction. Prioritizing mental health during intense academic journeys ensures better performance in the long run. Embracing the mindset of a summer brain break is about respecting your limits and honoring what you truly need at the moment. Sometimes "hecky naw" isn’t just a humorous phrase but a declaration of self-care, a reminder that stepping back is sometimes the best step forward.
