Why have Thais been at odds over religion and practices for hundreds of years?
Many people see it as a difference in beliefs, but in Pojacademy's view, the deeper problem is that many Thais still do not understand the "mental roots of the country" and the role of diverse practices within Thai society.
Thailand is a diverse society of ideas, beliefs, and approaches to mental development, so different interpretations and practices occur. When each side upholds its views, it can lead to conflict and mutual acceptance.
It is important to learn to understand differences, respect the right to seek the truth of others, and view the common goal is peaceful coexistence.
As we understand the context of Thai society, we may discover that diversity is not a problem, but part of the power that makes Thai society exist to this day.

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่ได้เห็นและสัมผัสกับความขัดแย้งเรื่องศาสนาในสังคมไทย หลายครั้งปัญหาไม่ได้เกิดจากแค่การมีความเชื่อที่ต่างกันเท่านั้น แต่ยังรวมถึงการตีความและการยึดถือหลักต่างๆ อย่างเคร่งครัด เช่น บางกลุ่มยึดพระไตรปิฏกอย่างเคร่งครัด บางกลุ่มเน้นปริยัติหรือการศึกษาทางธรรมะ บางฝ่ายให้ความสำคัญกับสำนักหรือครูอาจารย์ เป็นต้น ซึ่งสิ่งเหล่านี้สะท้อนความหลากหลายในการปฏิบัติและความเชื่อในสังคมไทยที่เรียกได้ว่าเป็น "เมืองอนัตตา" หรือโลกคู่ขนาน ที่มนุษย์กับสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์อยู่ร่วมกัน การที่คนไทยบางกลุ่มยังไม่เข้าใจและยอมรับในความแตกต่างนี้ ส่งผลให้เกิดความขัดแย้งทางความคิดและการตัดสินใจที่ไม่ยอมรับซึ่งกันและกัน การเรียนรู้ที่จะเห็นคุณค่าของแนวปฏิบัติที่หลากหลายและเคารพสิทธิของผู้อื่นในการแสวงหาความจริงจึงเป็นกุญแจสำคัญในการสร้างสันติภาพ ในสังคมไทยยังมีรูปแบบการปกครองและการดำเนินชีวิตที่ผสานกับความเชื่อทางศาสนา เช่น การใช้ 5 ยานหลัก ซึ่งประกอบด้วย หีนยาน มหายาน, 2 มหายาน, วชิรยาน, และตันตรยาน สำหรับผู้ที่สนใจศึกษาลึกในเรื่องนี้ จะเห็นว่าความหลากหลายทางความเชื่อไม่ได้เป็นอุปสรรค แต่มันคือพลังและภูมิปัญญาที่ทำให้สังคมไทยสามารถอยู่ร่วมกันได้อย่างยั่งยืนตลอดมา ดังนั้น ทางออกของความขัดแย้งในอนาคตจึงอยู่ที่การสร้างความเข้าใจในรากฐานของแต่ละฝ่าย พร้อมเปิดใจรับฟังกันและกันเพื่อหาจุดร่วมที่จะอยู่ร่วมกันได้ โดยเฉพาะการสร้างความรู้ ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับรากจิตของสังคมไทยและบทบาทของศาสนาในชีวิตประจำวัน จะช่วยลดช่องว่างความขัดแย้งและส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ความแตกต่างอย่างแท้จริง
