Who else is tired of the Pokemon scalpers?

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that do this for living, but man, why you have to buy 100 prismatic etb and post it on social media.

Pokemon made a statement about this and they are going to reprint more packs, I hope we can get a good amount, this hobby is getting so expensive even to get a simple pack!

Leave a comment about this, what you think and how you feel about the Pokemon market right now.✌🏽

... Read moreOkay, seriously, who else is absolutely tired of the Pokémon card market being dominated by scalpers? I totally get that people need to make a living, but when it means everyday collectors like us can't even find a single Elite Trainer Box on release day, it just sucks the fun out of the hobby. I remember trying to get my hands on the Scarlet & Violet Prismatic Evolutions ETB, hoping to pull that gorgeous Eevee art, and it felt impossible. Every store shelf was empty, only to see dozens of them pop up online at double or triple the price just hours later. It’s disheartening, to say the least. This isn't just about missing out on a specific set; it's about the broader impact on the Pokémon TCG community. New collectors, especially kids just getting into the game, are completely priced out. How can a parent explain why a simple pack of cards costs so much more than it should? It turns what should be an exciting and accessible hobby into an exclusive club for those willing to pay exorbitant prices. I've seen so many friends just give up on collecting because it's become too frustrating and expensive. I was so relieved when Pokémon made a statement about reprinting more packs. It gives me a glimmer of hope that we might actually see stock on shelves again, and that prices might stabilize. But until then, what can we do? I've started trying to support my local game stores more, as they often have a better system for fair distribution or at least try to limit purchases. It's a small step, but every little bit helps. I also try to resist the urge to buy from scalpers, even when FOMO (fear of missing out) kicks in. It's hard, but I believe it's important not to fuel their business model. Sometimes, it feels like we're caught in a cycle: high demand leads to low supply, which scalpers exploit, driving prices even higher. Then, collectors feel pressured to buy at inflated prices, reinforcing the cycle. It's tough, but I think patience is key. Waiting for those reprints, focusing on cards you genuinely love rather than just chase cards, and connecting with other collectors who share your frustrations can make a big difference. Let's keep the conversation going and hope for a healthier, more accessible Pokémon market for everyone. What are your strategies for dealing with the scalper situation?
