Pichu
Hey everyone! If you're anything like me, you've probably caught a cute little Pichu and then immediately wondered, 'Okay, now how do I evolve Pichu into that iconic Pikachu?' It's a question I searched for myself when I first started my adventure, and honestly, the answer isn't always super straightforward! I remember staring at my Pichu, seeing its current stats like CP258, wondering when it would get bigger and stronger like Pikachu at CP518. Well, after quite a bit of trial and error, I've figured out the best ways to make that happen, and I'm excited to share my experience with you! In many of the main series Pokémon games, Pichu has a unique evolution method compared to other Pokémon. It doesn't evolve just by leveling up, nor does it require a special item or stone. The key to evolving your Pichu lies in its friendship level with you, its trainer! This little ELECTRIC-type Pokémon needs to feel truly bonded with you before it will consider evolving. I found this out the hard way, grinding levels when I should have been bonding! The game often gives you a subtle hint, sometimes even asking 'Do you want to evolve Pichu?' once it's ready. So, how do you boost that friendship stat? It's all about showing your Pichu some love! Here are some tried-and-true methods that worked for me: Walk together: Keeping Pichu in your party and walking around with it is one of the easiest ways. Every step counts! Battle, but don't faint: Let Pichu participate in battles and win, but make sure it doesn't get knocked out. Fainting can actually decrease friendship. I always tried to lead with my Pichu for a few turns. Give it items: Using stat-enhancing vitamins (like Carbos or Iron) or certain berries (like Pomeg, Kelpsy, Hondew, etc.) can boost friendship. Equipping a Soothe Bell is also a game-changer, as it doubles the friendship gains! Grooming/Petting: In games with features like Pokémon Amie, Pokémon Refresh, or Pokémon Camp, spending time petting, feeding, and playing with your Pichu will significantly increase its happiness. This was always my favorite part! Avoid bitter medicines: Potions and other healing items that taste 'bitter' can slightly lower friendship, so try to stick to sweet ones or just heal at a Pokémon Center. Once your Pichu's friendship level is high enough (usually around 220 out of 255), the next time it gains a level, it will trigger the evolution! That's when your tiny Pichu, currently weighing around 2.64kg and standing 0.34m tall, will transform into the more robust Pikachu, reaching 7.93kg and 0.45m. It's such a satisfying moment to see that evolution animation after all your hard work, and knowing your ELECTRIC-type friend is ready to learn more powerful moves than just Thunder Shock. For those of you playing Pokémon GO, the process is a bit different but still straightforward. You'll need 25 Pichu Candies to evolve it into Pikachu. No friendship stats to worry about there, just collect those candies by catching more Pichu, transferring extras, or walking with Pichu as your buddy. It's a simpler 'POWER UP' approach in that game! Evolving Pichu isn't just about collecting a new form; it's about unlocking more power! Pikachu boasts higher stats, more powerful moves, and is generally more versatile in battle. While Pichu is undeniably cute, Pikachu is a powerhouse ready for action. It’s always exciting to see your efforts pay off as your little Pichu grows into a formidable companion. My biggest tip? Be patient and consistent! Friendship takes time, but it's incredibly rewarding. Keep your Pichu in your party, give it love, and soon you'll have a fantastic Pikachu by your side. I hope this guide helps you evolve your Pichu successfully. Happy training!
