career advice for the gorlsss <3
As someone who has navigated the challenges of building a career from scratch, I can relate deeply to the advice shared here. One thing I’ve learned is that the journey to success isn’t just about having a great idea—it’s about protecting that idea and ensuring you’re prepared before sharing it widely. I used to be very open about my career plans early on, but I quickly realized that not everyone has your best interests at heart, and some might unintentionally or even intentionally take inspiration without giving credit. Keeping your ambitions private until you’ve developed a solid foundation can really increase your chances of making your vision a reality. Another important aspect is choosing your circle carefully. The people you surround yourself with hugely impact your mindset and motivation. Negative influences can drain your energy, while genuinely supportive mentors and friends uplift you and keep you focused on your goals. I’ve personally found that limiting exposure to negative feedback and focusing on constructive criticism has helped me grow immensely. Motivation also requires authenticity—pursuing something that truly excites you day after day makes all the difference. There were times I set goals that sounded impressive to others but didn’t resonate with me deeply. Those goals were harder to achieve because the drive was missing. Owning your journey means being honest about what you want and working for it without needing constant validation. Remember, talking about your plans can sometimes provide a false sense of accomplishment, so channel that energy into action instead. Lastly, remember that luck often comes from preparation meeting opportunity. Make it a habit to continually learn and develop your skills so when the right moment arises, you’re ready to shine. Standing out means thinking about what unique qualities you bring and how you differentiate yourself in your field—whether it’s creativity, dedication, or a fresh approach. Building a career as a woman can sometimes come with unique challenges, but with mindfulness about who you trust, protecting your ideas, and staying motivated for the right reasons, you can create meaningful success. These insights stem from real-life experiences, and I hope they empower others to pursue their dreams with confidence and resilience.
