the captions for this took so long 😭 enjoy!! <3 🇲🇦 🇨🇦 🇫🇷 🇪🇸 🇱🇧 🇺🇸 i love learning languages because even something like sentence structures can differ widely & it’s fascinating how that reflects in the way ppl view the world~
the more words we know the deeper we can understand things & properly express ourselves!! 🥹
Learning multiple languages has been a truly enriching experience for me, and I believe anyone can benefit from embracing a second or even third language. From my journey, one of the most eye-opening realizations is how deeply language influences the way we think and perceive the world around us. For example, French, which I consider my first language, is not only romantic but also very honest and straightforward—qualities that shape how humor and expressions develop. I found that certain emotions or ideas are easier to convey in French than in English. Switching to Moroccan Arabic dialect (Darija), I noticed how language is intertwined with culture and family. Even if my vocabulary in Darija is mostly about food or simple daily phrases, it keeps me connected to my roots and relatives. Spanish is another language I dabbled in, though my self-taught attempt via apps like Duolingo was not very effective. That taught me the value of structured learning, preferably with a tutor or immersive environment. One challenge I've faced is the feeling that English, despite being so widespread, sometimes lacks specific words to capture certain feelings or concepts that other languages describe perfectly. This is why I encourage learners not to settle for one language but to keep exploring—it's a gateway to connecting more deeply with diverse cultures and people. Watching media with subtitles in other languages proved to be an unexpectedly effective way to build vocabulary and improve comprehension. For those looking to start learning a language, I highly recommend engaging with content you enjoy, whether it’s shows, music, or video blogs. Overall, language learning is more than memorizing words—it's about understanding different sentence structures, nuances, and worldview reflections. It broadens communication skills and enriches life by fostering empathy and deeper connections with people worldwide. I encourage everyone to take that first step, even if it’s just learning phrases in a dialect or picking up cultural expressions that don't directly translate into English.
