In a sense, a chilling feeling down my spine about something I can't understand.
As for the structure of the story, it was very easy to read and I could read it at once! I like the structure where the criminal and the reasoning are assembled first, and then each piece is rewritten to the correct truth.
However, the flow of chasing the incident together was unexpected and a little fantasy lol
I've always thought a lot about things like, "Can my sister cut her head like this at the age of 3?" or "The main character is an elementary school student, but he's really reasoning!" lol
Am I the only one who suddenly couldn't organize the story in his head in the second half? Was Iwamura-sensei just a pervert after all? Grandpa, aren't your roots too crazy???I wonder if you will notice this after rereading it several times.
Including that, this is a must-read.

※以下は「ネタバレ控えめ」で書きますが、ラストの受け取り方に触れるので未読の方はご注意ください。 『向日葵の咲かない夏』は、最初は学園ミステリーっぽいのに、途中から「それって現実？それとも…？」みたいな方向にスッと連れていかれるのが怖いところだと思いました。私は読んでいて、説明のつかないものに出会ったときの“理解できなさ”がそのまま恐怖になる感じが強かったです。ホラーというより、静かに背筋が冷えるタイプ。 検索で多い「表紙」についても、改めて眺めると印象が変わりました。文庫カバーの青い階段を上る人物と、そばにある自転車って、いかにも「夏休み」「子どもの行動範囲」「どこかへ向かう」みたいな明るい要素なのに、色味がひんやりしていて不穏なんですよね。読み終わってから見ると、“上っているのに出口がない”感じもして、物語の息苦しさとリンクして見えました。表紙イラストが気になって手に取る人が多いの、分かります。 あと「ミカって何者？」問題。3歳とは思えない言動や、主人公（小学生）も含めて推理が妙に達者で、現実の感覚から少し浮いてる。私はここが逆にポイントで、「この語りはどこまで信用できるんだろう？」って疑いが積み上がる作りだと感じました。読みやすいのに、読者側の認知をじわじわ揺らしてくるのが上手いです。 「最後が分からない」「一回で整理できない」という人が多いタイプの作品なので、私がやってよかったのは再読というより“確認読み”。①序盤の出来事を時系列でメモする ②登場人物が口にした断定表現（〜に違いない、見た、知っている）に線を引く ③場面転換の直前直後で、語りの温度が変わってないかを見る、の3つです。これをやると、後半の「急に頭が追いつかない」が少しマシになりました。 映像化（映画・ドラマ化）を気にして検索する人も多いみたいですが、もし映像になったら“説明しすぎると怖さが減る”タイプの話だと思います。活字だと、自分の想像が勝手に補完してしまって、その分ぞっとする。個人的には、読後に表紙を見返して、もう一度あらすじを短く追い直すのがいちばん効きました。 読み終わってスッキリしたい人より、「え、今の何だったの？」を抱えたまま考えるのが好きな人に刺さる一冊。私も時間を置いてもう一回読み直したくなりました。
