Need to get back on track

I realized that for being 37 I am not in a good place mentally, physically, etc I have a really bad habit of falling asleep with all the lights on and then waking up three hours later completely disoriented, but I have to wash my face and brush my teeth. I also work retail where I’m on my feet for nine hours a day and I come home and crash and just veg out and it is not productive. So this is me trying to get back in shape and established some sort of a routine.

Establishing a structured routine can significantly enhance both mental and physical health. Start by prioritizing a consistent sleep schedule, which is crucial for regulating the body's circadian rhythm. Aim for 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep each night, minimizing screen time before bed to foster better rest. Incorporating healthy habits during the day is vital. Engage in at least 30 minutes of active movement to help elevate mood and boost energy levels. This could be as simple as a brisk walk or as structured as strength training sessions 2-3 times a week. Additionally, remind yourself to practice kindness, both to yourself and others, and consider socializing to enrich your emotional health. Nutrition plays a key role in overall well-being. Focus on hydration, aiming for daily intake that includes plenty of water and nourishing beverages like herbal teas. Prioritize whole, unprocessed foods, incorporating ample vegetables, healthy fats, and protein in your meals. Meal prepping can help mitigate the temptation of convenience foods, making it easier to stick to healthy choices. Lastly, employ mindfulness practices, such as meditation or journaling, to limit negativity and create a calm mental space. It's essential to nurture not just your physical body, but also your mind, fostering an overall lifestyle that supports wellness and happiness. By taking small, manageable steps towards a routine, you can gradually regain a sense of control over your life and health, making it easier to thrive as you move forward.
