my day in inverness🏰✨

if you’ve ever wondered whether you can see the highlands in a single day, the answer is YES, and it’s magical. i took the early train from stirling to inverness and spent the day exploring history, cozy bookshops, local markets, and hidden gems (all on a budget 👇). here’s everything i did and what it cost:

🚆 train from stirling to inverness — £34

⚔️ toured the historic culloden battlefield — FREE (bus cost ~£5 for return)

📚 got lost in leakey’s bookshop heaven — spend what you will on books and vintage prints

🌊 strolled along the river ness — free views

🥤 tried the original milk bar — coffee & snack ~£6

🛍️ wandered high street + the victorian market — shopping for everyone (some pricy, some reasonable)

🍟grabbed a late lunch from ollie’s pops — £13

🎨 explored the inverness museum & art gallery — FREE!!

🏰 viewed inverness castle — closed for renovation :(

🌇 watched the sunset from the train home 💛

budget-friendly, scenic, and full of history: inverness might be my new favourite scottish city!
