Is it easier to plan tripsWith friends or your sig
For me it’s def my boyfriend since we set up a trip we are all in! But sometimes with my friends if we plan a trip, some people back out (due to life things) or money isn’t doing so well. Like our last big trip we planned it ended up with me and my boyfriend going on the planned trip date while everyone else went a few months later… it really sucked and I wished to have experienced things with my friends as well but I also understand their reasoning for backing out… for me and my boyfriend we had other trips planned for that year with family the new date change didn’t work with any of our pto ….
So in this case I feel like planning trips with my boyfriend are a bit easier, but with a large group of friends it becomes so much harder
So let me know which one works out better with you! #tripswithmyboyfriend #tripswithfriends #vacation #GirlTalk #lemon8challenge
It's so true what's mentioned in the article – planning trips with friends can sometimes feel like herding cats! I've definitely been there, dealing with last-minute dropouts or budget disagreements. But from my own experience, things can get even more interesting when you add a significant other into the mix, especially if you're like me and your partner's input is a big part of any major decision, including travel. The original post perfectly captures the frustration when a carefully planned group adventure unravels. I remember one time my friends and I were dreaming up a big European adventure – think bustling cities and scenic train rides! The excitement was palpable! But then came the moment to discuss it with my husband. It wasn't about him saying 'no,' but more about aligning our own vacation plans, his work schedule, and our joint budget. It felt like I was planning two trips at once – one with my friends, and then figuring out how to make that work seamlessly with my husband's schedule and our shared financial goals. It's not always about getting 'approval' in a formal sense, but more about ensuring everyone's on the same page and happy with the plan, especially when it involves a significant chunk of time or money. This dynamic adds a whole new layer to the question: 'Is it easier to plan trips with friends or your significant other?' My biggest takeaway? Communication is absolutely key, both with your friends and your partner. When I'm contemplating a trip with friends, I now try to have a preliminary, informal chat with my husband first, even before solidifying dates or destinations with my friends. I'll say something like, 'Hey, [friend's name] and I are thinking about a weekend getaway in [month]. Does that sound feasible for us, considering our other plans?' This way, I get an early read on his thoughts, any potential conflicts, or budget concerns. Sometimes it means I have to advocate for the trip to him a bit, explaining why it's important for me to spend that dedicated time with my friends, and showing him how it fits into our overall family or couple plans. It also helps immensely if you can present a well-thought-out plan to your partner – not just 'I'm going,' but 'This is where we'd go, how long it would be, and what the estimated cost is.' Show that you've considered the impact on your shared life, responsibilities, and finances. And for my friends, I've learned to be really upfront about the need for commitment early on, especially when it involves significant costs or time off. It's a delicate balance, making sure everyone feels heard and valued, and that all the important people in your life are on board. But ultimately, this upfront communication makes for much smoother trip planning and happier memories for everyone involved, whether it's an exhilarating adventure with your besties or a romantic escape with your significant other. It truly boils down to understanding each other's needs and being flexible.

Significant other. Some friends have different agendas and we can’t do everything that everyone wants to do. It’s easier just to have your spouse and more than likely I would be doing the planning 🙄, but that’s ok with me.
