HIGH PROTEIN CHICKEN TAQUITO RECIPE

I love this so much and all I needed to do was just heat it up when i get hungry 🌯

High Protein Chicken Taquitos

INGREDIENTS:

- 500g chicken breast

- 1 tsp smoked paprika

- 1 tsp garlic powder

- 1 tsp onion powder

- 1 tsp pepper

- 1 tsp salt

- 1/2 tsp oil

- 100g light cream cheese

- 1 packet taco seasoning

- 60 - 80ml water

- 240g grated mozzarella

DIRECTIONS:

1. Prep your chicken by seasoning it with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder on both sides

2. In a pan, add some oil (just a little bit) and cook your chicken on medium heat for 10 - 12 mins. Once that is cooked, take it out and shred it. Once shredded, place it back into the pan and add water, cream cheese and taco seasoning. Cook until there’s no more liquid left and then set it aside.

3. Take a piece of wrap and add some mozzarella cheese, followed by your chicken. Roll it up from bottom (half way) then the sides and then roll it up again to the top

4. Toast it with just a little bit of oil and it’s ready to eat!

5. If you’re planning to have it some other time, wrap it in a foil and store in the freezer. To reheat, remove the foil and microwave it for 1 - 2 mins before toasting or airfrying it for it to be crispy

... Read moreHaving tried this high protein chicken taquito recipe myself, I can say it’s one of the best quick meals for a busy lifestyle. The combination of shredded chicken with cream cheese and taco seasoning creates such a creamy and flavorful filling that is both satisfying and nutritious. What I love most is how versatile it is—you can toast them on a pan or air fry them for a crispier texture. Plus, they store beautifully in the freezer wrapped in foil, making meal prepping a breeze. One tip I found helpful is to make sure the chicken is cooked just right—not too dry—so that shredding it results in tender, juicy pieces. Adding the water along with the cream cheese and seasoning helps create a perfect saucy consistency that binds the filling together. Also, using light cream cheese keeps the calories down without sacrificing flavor. For the wraps, I recommend using flour tortillas as they roll up easily and crisp nicely when toasted. You can experiment by adding a touch of fresh cilantro or a squeeze of lime before rolling for an extra zing. These taquitos serve wonderfully as a snack, lunch, or even a party appetizer. From a nutrition standpoint, each taquito offers around 31g of protein and only about 250 calories, making them a great choice for anyone looking to increase protein intake while keeping the meal light. The use of spices like smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder adds depth without additional calories. If you’re watching sodium, you might want to reduce the salt or choose a low-sodium taco seasoning. Overall, this high protein chicken taquito recipe is not only delicious but also convenient and healthy, perfect for meal prepping and ready-to-eat meals when hunger strikes. Give it a try—you'll likely find it becoming a staple in your recipe collection!
