Towing My Friend’s 1996 Mazda Miata

For anyone else considering 'towing a Miata' or any similar 'lightweight sports car', here are a few things I learned. Always know your vehicle's 'towing capacity' and ensure your 'miata trailer' or any trailer's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is sufficient. Use appropriate tie-downs – four points are ideal, securing the car by its suspension or frame, not just the wheels. Drive cautiously, especially on turns and when braking, as the added weight changes how your vehicle handles. And always do a pre-trip inspection of your trailer lights, tires, and connections. It was a great feeling getting the 1996 Miata to its new garage. Now the real fun begins for my friend – getting this classic 'roadster' fully restored and back on the road.
