Podomoro 🍅⏰☘⏱ reading technique
📐📎 Reading books with Pomodoro technique will help you to "not fatigue" and "remember accurately" because our brain focuses best in a short period of time.
Here are the "techniques" designed to start using immediately:
1. Prepare before you start (Pre-Session)
- Select content: Select one chapter or one topic to finish reading in this round.
- Remove distractions: Turn off the mobile alert or put it far away.
- Prepare equipment: books, highlight pens, and drinking water
2. "Resistant Reading Formula" Schedule (25 / 5 Standard)
- Recommended to do this 4 times continuously (total 2 hours)
🗣: Reading Period (25 minutes): Read only. Do not pick up your phone. If other thoughts flash in, write down the paper and go back to read.
- Break (5 minutes): Must get out of your seat, stretch, rest your eyes, or drink water (Do not plow social plow, because the brain will not really rest)
At the end of four rounds: give a big break of 15-30 minutes to eat snacks or listen to your favorite songs, and then start a new round.
3. Active Recall
To make 25-minute reading as effective as possible, try this formula: First 15 minutes: Read new content.
- 5 minutes later: Close the book and try to summarize what you just read in a piece of paper.
- Last 5 minutes: Open the checkbook where we forgot and write down the unrecognizable parts.
🤔 4. Adjust according to the difficulty of the subject.
- Very difficult subjects (e.g. compute / physics): adjust to 50 / 10 (do 50 minutes, rest 10 minutes) to allow for continuous problem solving time
- Subjects to remember (such as language / biology): Use 25 / 5 is the best fit because the brain is refreshing all the time
