... Read moreHey everyone! So, following up on my thoughts about getting a temporary lower back tattoo for summer, I've been doing a ton of research and soul-searching, and wanted to share some of my expanded thoughts and tips with you all. It really boils down to finding something that feels right and complements your personal style, especially when you're looking for that 'hot ASF' summer vibe! First off, why a lower back tattoo, often playfully called a 'tramp stamp'? For me, it's about the placement. It’s a beautifully discreet yet alluring spot, especially with crop tops, swimsuits, or backless dresses. It can really enhance the natural curve of the body, giving off a confident and feminine feel. Plus, if you already have back tattoos, like my wings, it creates a cohesive, flowing look. It's also a spot that can be easily covered for professional settings, offering versatility. When it comes to designs, the possibilities are endless and it’s where your personality can truly shine. I've been looking at so many options, from delicate floral patterns that follow the spine to more whimsical motifs. Think about what truly resonates with you. I've seen some super cute ideas like cherries for a playful touch, or even a detailed mushroom for a bit of an enchanted forest vibe. Some people go for something bold like a stylized insect – maybe a butterfly or a bee – while others prefer celestial designs like a blazing sun or intricate eyes for a mystical feel. The key is to pick something that expresses *you*. Don't be afraid to combine elements or personalize a classic design to make it uniquely yours. For summer, I'm leaning temporary, and here's why. The sun can be brutal on new tattoos, causing fading, and proper aftercare is crucial. With a temporary tattoo, I can experiment with placement and design without the long-term commitment or worrying as much about sun exposure while it's fresh. If you’re considering a permanent one, remember that sun protection is absolutely non-negotiable for healing and longevity. Always use high SPF, especially on new ink! Also, fresh tattoos need to avoid prolonged water submersion, so swimming in pools or the ocean is out during the healing phase – a big consideration for summer plans! Another thing to consider is the size and flow. A smaller, more delicate design can look incredibly elegant, while a larger piece can make a bold statement. I’m thinking about how it will look with my existing wing tattoos, ensuring it doesn't clash but rather enhances them. The beauty of the lower back is that it's a relatively flat canvas, allowing for intricate details without distortion. However, it also curves, so make sure your chosen design flows well with your body's natural lines. A good tattoo artist can help you visualize this. And what about pain? While everyone's pain tolerance is different, the lower back is generally considered a less painful area compared to bonier spots, which is a bonus! Ultimately, getting a tattoo, whether temporary or permanent, is a personal journey. It's about expressing yourself and feeling confident in your skin. So, if you're like me and dreaming of that perfect summer lower back tattoo, take your time, explore different designs, and imagine how it will make you feel. What designs are you all loving for this spot? I’d love to hear your thoughts and see any inspiration you have!

I’ve said this for years, but I am 1,000,000% convinced that the term tramp stamp came from some unattractive frat guy who was hitting on a girl in a bar, she turned him down and because she had a tattoo there and he was trying to save face in front of his boys, he was talking a whole bunch of shyyyt and called her tattoo a tramp stamp and that’s where that phrase came from.
