Venice 1-Day Travel Plan

Morning.

• Piazza San Marco (San Marco Square)

A good place to start because it's the heart of the city.

• Stop by Basilica di San Marco, a beautiful big church (free admission, but some are extra)

• Up the Campanile di San Marco Campanile. See the city and Lake Venice from a high angle.

• Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace)

The old palace is beautiful on the outside and inside, if there is a time to introduce it (1-1.5 hours in case).

Noon

• Take a walk along a small alley, the Rialto Bridge, the iconic sign of Venice, and the Rialto Market.

• Have a Cicchetti Recommended Lunch (Venetian Tapas) or Fresh Seafood Menu

Afternoon

• Gondola Ride or Vaporetto (mail boat)

• If you want a romantic atmosphere, choose a gondola (quite expensive, about 80 euros per 30 minutes)

• If you want a local and affordable experience, use the Vaporetto 1-box Grand Canal to see the old building.

• Bridge of Sighs

The Bridge of Sighs, linking the Doge's Palace to the old prison, is another beautiful photographed corner.

Cool

• Take a walk through the atmosphere of the waterfront around Riva degli Schiavoni.

• If you have extra time, sit Vaporetto to Murano or Burano (but if only one day, you may choose only one Burano - a very cute fresh-colored house)

Evening

• Come back to San Marco or the Grand Canal.

• End with a nightly stroll. Venice at night is quiet. Very romantic.
