Mak, or soil jackfruit, scientific name: (Tiegh.) Lecomte Wong jackfruit soil family Balanophoraceae

A herbaceous tree, about 6-25 centimeters high, adjacent to the roots of the plant that lives is an uncertain knot, consisting of small and branched nodules, almost round oval sub-nodules, coarse scaly skin, dormant during the dry season, growing during the rainy season.

Single leaves, alternately arranged, 3-6 scale-like reduced leaves. The leaves are not green, but light yellow or yellow, because they are bian plants that do not need photosynthesis.

White or creamy white flowers, periodically attached to the end of the bouquet, crooked flower shape, 4-6 petals in total, arranged in 2 rows, unequal size, bracts resembling bracts, wedge-shaped or nearly square.

The female inflorescence is elongated, oval-shaped, or ovate-back, brown or reddish-brown, with no combined petals, but is small, close to the end of the pencil, tightly packed on the stem of the inflorescence, flowering around July-February.
