The Tagu Gold Cone Mushroom (Microporus xanthopus), also known by its common name Yellow-footed Micropore, is a Khon mushroom commonly found on dead barrels and twigs in the wild.
The mushroom flower features a conical shape, a wide mouth, an upper skin with stripes of yellowish brown, reddish brown, alternating in several stacked loops, a smooth, glossy, white-holed finish under the hat.
Mushroom flowers are thin and sticky in texture. They cannot be eaten, but are useful in helping to decompose wood into soil fertilizer.
They are common in tropical forests, often on branches or dead timber.

นอกจากลักษณะที่น่าสนใจของเห็ดกรวยทองตะกูแล้ว ผมยังชอบศึกษาวิธีที่เห็ดชนิดนี้ทำหน้าที่ย่อยสลายไม้ในธรรมชาติ เห็ดกรวยทองตะกูมีความสามารถพิเศษในการช่วยเปลี่ยนเศษซากไม้ที่ตายแล้วให้กลายเป็นสารอาหารที่ช่วยบำรุงดิน ทำให้ระบบนิเวศในป่ายังคงสมดุลและมีความอุดมสมบูรณ์ เมื่อผมไปเยี่ยมชมอุทยานแห่งชาติคลองลาน จังหวัดกำแพงเพชร ได้เห็นเห็ดกรวยทองตะกูเจริญเติบโตอยู่บนกิ่งไม้ที่หล่นลงมา เรียกว่าธรรมชาติจัดการตัวเองได้อย่างน่าทึ่ง เห็ดชนิดนี้ไม่ได้มีประโยชน์เพียงแต่ช่วยย่อยสลายไม้เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของห่วงโซ่อาหารในป่า ซึ่งส่งผลดีต่อสัตว์ป่าที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ด้วย หากคุณสนใจการปลูกต้นไม้หรือดูแลสวน เห็ดกรวยทองตะกูสามารถเป็นตัวช่วยเพิ่มคุณภาพดินได้อย่างดี โดยเฉพาะในแปลงที่มีเศษไม้มาก การส่งเสริมเห็ดเหล่านี้ให้ผุดขึ้นจึงเป็นอีกวิธีธรรมชาติที่ช่วยรักษาสุขภาพดินและเพิ่มผลผลิตทางเกษตรได้อย่างยั่งยืน
