Black Elephant Rare Forest Orchid in Bangkok National Park Forest

"Black Elephant" or "Black Elephant" or "Black Elephant" is found in Bang Central National Park, Yala Province, at an altitude of 700-1,600 meters above sea level. This kind of orchid is classified as a residential orchid.

The distinguishing feature is that the stems are short, alternately arranged leaves nested with a parallel margin, measuring 4 centimeters wide by 23 centimeters long. The tips of the leaves are unevenly concave and the edges of the leaves wavy.

The inflorescence on the joints may be single and branched, hanging down to 15 centimeters long. The specialty of the black elephant is in its delicate colors. The flowers are small, only 0.6 centimeters wide, light yellow, sometimes dotted with brown red.

The blossoms endure several days, seeing bloom during February to August. Black elephants grow well in a variety of environments, both arid rainforest, montane forest and evergreen forest, preferring to live in shaded areas or with sunshine, reflecting the importance of conserving forest ecosystems to allow this precious wild orchid to continue to grow naturally.

The beauty of the wild orchid should remain in its natural habitat to maintain the ecological balance and biodiversity of the Thai forest.
