"Burnt-tailed green snake," this name many people know.
The Green Pit Viper, or in the scientific genus, is a slow, not fast, snaking snake with a fierce and snatching habit when approaching, living along eaves, wood piles, plant pots, grass clumps.
Nocturnal, in trees and on overgrown grasses, feeding on birds, mice, lizards, geckos, rodents, and amphibians.
While lying on a branch, the body and tail are attached to the branch. Usually, there are 8-12 snakes that give birth at a time, but there are also some types that give birth to eggs.
It has a distinctly triangular head, the eyes have vertical pupils, and the tail tip is often dark or black, resembling a burn, which is where the name "burning tail" comes from.
Burnt-tailed green snakes are venomous snakes that are poisonous to the blood system, making them easy to bleed, difficult to hemostat, and can cause swelling at the bite site.
Burnt-tailed green snakes are found in many parts of Southeast Asia and South Asia, including Thailand.
