Armigeres subalbatus is a large mosquito with alternating black and white stripes but no stripes on its legs, often mistaken for a mosquito.
Hen mosquitoes, are carriers of heartworm worms in dogs, and bite people at dusk to dawn. Breeding grounds for this mosquito include wells, water baths, drilled coconut balls, or coconut shells, or containers with dirty water trapped.
The distinguishing feature is a large mosquito, with a striped body that alternates between black and white, but without stripes on its legs, often in the evening to dusk and early morning.
