🌸 i parted with an Apple product 🌸

a couple days ago, i realized that i haven’t been reaching for my iPad Pro 12.9in.

she was my ride or die through college, but within the last year i’ve found myself using my iPad Mini 6 with my 13in Macbook more than my giant iPad.

so, i made the painfully adult decision to let her go instead of let her collect dust while being a $1000 paperweight. 🩷

my ecosystem now consists of:

- iphone 17 pro max

- apple watch

- ipad mini 6

- apple pencil

- imac 24in desktop

- 13in macbook pro

- airpod max

It’s a mixture of nostalgia and practicality. I used my iPad Pro heavily through college—it was reliable, powerful, and often my main screen for both work and entertainment. However, over time, I noticed a significant shift in how I used my devices. The iPad Mini 6, coupled with my 13in MacBook Pro, started to take precedence in my daily routine. Its compact size makes it more portable and accessible for quick tasks, reading, and note-taking on the go. The large iPad Pro, while excellent, felt bulky and redundant. I found myself reaching less and less for it, which made me question its value sitting idle at home. Letting go of the iPad Pro was a practical move to avoid having an expensive gadget become a dust collector. This reflects a common experience many of us face—balancing our love for tech with realistic usage patterns. Downsizing your tech isn’t just about saving space; it’s about tailoring your devices to your lifestyle. My current setup now thrives on connectivity between the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch, iPad Mini 6, and MacBook Pro, all seamlessly integrated to cover every need without overlap. For those considering a similar upgrade or simplification, I recommend evaluating your daily habits. Which devices do you use most? Are there tools gathering dust? Sometimes, smaller devices can offer better flexibility, especially if you prioritize mobility. Apple’s ecosystem still provides a cohesive user experience—whether editing documents on your iPad Mini or taking calls on your iPhone, the transition feels fluid. Lastly, the feeling of growing up and making these decisions can be surprisingly rewarding. It’s empowering to choose quality over quantity and ensure every gadget serves a purpose. If you’ve been holding onto tech 'just in case,' consider whether your current devices truly fit your current lifestyle. Sometimes, letting go opens up room for new opportunities and less clutter—both digitally and physically.
