สัญญาณจากจักรวาลในมุมมองส่วนตัวของผม คือการที่เราเริ่มตระหนักรู้ลึกซึ้งถึงสิ่งรอบตัวและภายในใจของเราเองอย่างแท้จริง การตื่นรู้ไม่ได้หมายถึงแค่การมองเห็นสิ่งต่างๆ ชัดเจนขึ้น แต่เป็นการที่เราสามารถรักษาความสงบนิ่งของจิตใจในขณะที่เผชิญกับความเปลี่ยนแปลงหรือความวุ่นวายต่างๆในชีวิต เมื่อผมเริ่มปฏิบัติธรรมและฝึกสติ จึงได้เรียนรู้ว่า ความสามารถในการรับรู้ที่เพิ่มขึ้นนั้นจะไม่มีประโยชน์เลย หากเราไม่มีสติคอยยับยั้งใจไม่ให้ถูกกระแสอารมณ์หรือความคิดพาไป การเห็นเหตุการณ์และความจริงที่ซ่อนอยู่ภายในจิตใจของเราเองนั้น ถือว่าเป็นก้าวแรกที่สำคัญ แต่การไม่ยึดติด หรือตอบสนองด้วยอารมณ์อย่างรวดเร็วต่างหากคือกุญแจสู่การตื่นรู้ที่แท้จริง ในชีวิตประจำวัน เรามักจะติดอยู่กับความคิดและความรู้สึก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นความกังวล ความโกรธ หรือความอยากได้ ทั้งหมดนี้คือสิ่งที่ดึงเราไปให้หลงอยู่ในวัฏจักรเดิมๆ การฝึกฝนให้ใจนิ่งนั้น เท่ากับการฝึกให้เราเป็นผู้สังเกต เป็นผู้ที่สามารถตั้งอยู่เหนือความว้าวุ่นทั้งหลาย ผมเองเคยเจอสถานการณ์ที่ต้องเผชิญกับความขัดแย้งและความไม่ certainty มากมาย หากในช่วงเวลานั้น ผมไม่มีสติพอที่จะไม่ไหลไปตามอารมณ์หรือความคิด การตัดสินใจและการกระทำก็จะส่งผลลบตามมา แต่เมื่อฝึกฝนจนใจนิ่ง ผมพบว่าผมสามารถรับมือกับความท้าทายเหล่านั้นได้ดีขึ้นมาก รู้สึกอิสระจากความเครียดและความวิตกกังวล ดังนั้น สัญญาณที่แท้จริงจากจักรวาลอาจไม่ได้มาเป็นภาพหรือเสียงที่ชัดเจน แต่เป็นความสงบ ความนิ่ง และความเข้าใจลึกซึ้งที่เกิดขึ้นในใจเราเอง ซึ่งช่วยให้เราดำรงชีวิตได้อย่างมีสติและเข้าถึงความสุขที่แท้จริงโดยไม่ถูกโลกภายนอกควบคุม
