It's so lovely to connect with you all here on Lemon8! Since I'm sharing a little about myself, I thought I'd dive a bit deeper into what fills my days with joy and the beautiful chaos of my life in sunny San Diego. Living in San Diego truly is a dream for our family. With four active boys, the beach is our go-to escape. We love exploring different spots, from the calm waters of La Jolla Shores, perfect for the little ones to splash, to the wider sands of Coronado. There’s nothing quite like packing a picnic, building sandcastles, and watching the sunset paint the sky over the Pacific. Beyond the sand, San Diego offers endless family fun. We're big fans of Balboa Park, where we can spend hours at the museums or just running around the open spaces. The San Diego Zoo is also a frequent adventure, always something new to see! When we're not at the beach, my husband and I often seek a different kind of thrill: dirt biking! It might sound unexpected for a mom of four, but it's become such an exhilarating passion. We love heading out to the desert trails, like those in Ocotillo Wells. There’s a unique freedom that comes with riding, and the rugged beauty of the landscape is surprisingly peaceful. It’s a fantastic way for us to de-stress and connect, just the two of us, amidst the adventure. Then, there's my more serene creative outlet: painting. I mostly work with acrylics, and my inspiration often comes from the vibrant colors of San Diego – the ocean, the sunsets, the flowers – or just the whimsical ideas that pop into my head. It's a wonderful way to express myself and find a moment of calm in my busy schedule. For me, creating something beautiful with my hands is incredibly therapeutic. If you're thinking of picking up a brush, I'd say just go for it! Start with simple designs or abstract shapes and see where your creativity takes you. And after a long day of mama duties, adventures, and creative pursuits, unwinding with a glass of wine is a cherished ritual. We enjoy exploring the local vineyards, especially up in Temecula Valley. It’s amazing how many incredible wines are produced just a short drive from us. Discovering new blends and simply enjoying a quiet evening, perhaps with a charcuterie board, is how we recharge. Finally, our cooking videos have become such a fun and rewarding project! We’re passionate about creating delicious, family-friendly meals that are also manageable for busy parents. From quick and healthy weeknight dinners to more indulgent weekend feasts, we love sharing our favorite recipes and kitchen hacks. Our goal is to inspire others to get creative in the kitchen without feeling overwhelmed. We often tackle themes like budget-friendly meals, quick prep ideas, or even how to get picky eaters to try new things. It’s all about making mealtime enjoyable and stress-free for everyone.
