🤝Cross-Mekong Friendship _ Thai _ Laos
The Mekong is being elevated from a mere source of electricity, to a development model that emphasizes a balance between energy security and environmental protection.
The Kingdom of Thailand and the Lao People's Democratic Republic have held bilateral discussions to drive a joint investment in clean energy, specifically integrating the hydroelectric potential of the Lao PDR with the solar energy technology that Thailand specializes in to attract green industries to the region and towards Net Zero.
At the heart of sustainable development is the efficient and accurate management of water resources. Thailand has supported the installation of additional telemetry systems in the Lao PDR's tributaries to link information and develop early warning systems for floods and droughts, reducing the impact and losses on the people of the Mekong.
In addition, the two countries are driving the CLEAR Sky Strategy to address air pollution and manage the environment in an integrated manner. The partnership not only strengthens energy security, but also immunizes climate change, allowing Thailand and the Lao PDR to grow together as an environmentally friendly and safe manufacturing base for all.

ในฐานะที่ผมได้ติดตามและสนับสนุนการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในภูมิภาคลุ่มแม่น้ำโขงมานาน ผมมองเห็นว่าความร่วมมือระหว่างราชอาณาจักรไทยกับสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาวในด้านพลังงานสะอาดเป็นก้าวสำคัญที่ช่วยสร้างสมดุลระหว่างการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและการดูแลรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างแท้จริง สิ่งที่น่าสนใจอย่างหนึ่งคือการนำระบบโทรมาตร (Telemetry) ที่ไทยส่งเสริมไปยังลำน้ำสาขาในลาว ช่วยให้เกิดการเชื่อมต่อข้อมูลที่แม่นยำและมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น ผมเคยเห็นว่าเทคโนโลยีนี้ไม่เพียงแค่แจ้งเตือนภัยพิบัติธรรมชาติ เช่น น้ำท่วมหรือภัยแล้งล่วงหน้าเท่านั้น แต่ยังช่วยลดความเสียหายที่อาจเกิดขึ้นกับชุมชนริมน้ำโขงได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม นอกจากนี้ การผลักดันยุทธศาสตร์ “ฟ้าใส (CLEAR Sky Strategy)” ยังเป็นตัวอย่างการบริหารจัดการมลพิษทางอากาศแบบบูรณาการระหว่างประเทศที่น่าชื่นชม ในฐานะคนที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ใกล้แม่น้ำโขง ผมพบว่าคุณภาพอากาศที่ดีขึ้นส่งผลโดยตรงต่อสุขภาพของชุมชนและสัตว์ป่า การผสมผสานศักยภาพไฟฟ้าพลังน้ำของลาวกับเทคโนโลยีโซลาร์เซลล์ของไทยยังเป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวที่ชี้ถึงความสำเร็จของการร่วมมือทางพลังงานสีเขียว เพราะช่วยดึงดูดอุตสาหกรรมสีเขียวและการลงทุนอย่างยั่งยืนในภูมิภาค อีกทั้งยังสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมาย Net Zero ที่ทั้งสองประเทศตั้งใจไว้ สุดท้าย ผมคิดว่าการพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์และสายใย ไทย-ลาว นี้ นอกจากจะเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงทางพลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อมแล้ว ยังสะท้อนถึงมิตรภาพและการทำงานร่วมมือที่เข้มแข็งผ่านความมั่งคั่งของแม่น้ำโขง ซึ่งเป็นทรัพยากรสำคัญของคนสองประเทศอย่างแท้จริง
