I started a newsletter and hardly told a soul 🫣

Why? Because, honestly, I was scared no one would care about what I had to say.

I’m not a writer by trade, but as a multi-passionate creative, my heart flows through any medium that best conveys my message. Over the past year, I’ve really fallen in love with writing. And now? I’m no longer afraid to be seen trying.

Life is Precious is a bi-weekly collection of my musings, reflections, and creations. Join me as I explore what truly makes life precious. 💌✨

... Read moreI totally get that feeling of starting something new and being scared no one will care. When I finally decided to launch 'Life is Precious,' my bi-weekly newsletter, it truly felt like a huge leap of faith. But what I've learned is that newsletters are more than just emails; they're a direct line to people who genuinely want to hear from you. Why Even Bother with a Newsletter? For me, it was about finding a unique space to express my 'authenticity.' In a world full of algorithms, a newsletter feels personal. It’s where I can share my deepest musings and reflections, just like the image in my mind of 'True Healing Is Authenticity.' It’s about building a community around shared interests, passions, or even just the messy, beautiful journey of life. It’s a way to truly connect, without the noise of social media. If you've ever felt like, 'Am I shy or am I just too scared to be myself?' a newsletter can be your gentle nudge to step into your power and share your voice. It’s why I decided to stop telling myself, 'I'm an introvert, I like to work alone,' and instead embrace sharing. Ready to Start Your Own? Here’s How I Approached It (and you can too!): Find Your Niche & Voice: Don't try to be everything to everyone. What are your unique thoughts? What do you want to share? For me, it's about exploring what truly makes 'Life is Precious.' Maybe you want to share 'early childhood newsletter examples' for parents, or 'creative newsletter design' tips, or even just your personal journey like mine. The key is to be yourself. Pick a Platform (Like Substack!): There are so many options out there, from free to paid. I chose Substack because it's user-friendly and great for writers. Think about what fits your budget and technical comfort. Brainstorm Content Ideas: This is where the fun begins! Personal Reflections: Like my 'Life is Precious' newsletter, sharing your thoughts, feelings, and growth. This is great for building genuine connection. Curated Content: Share links to articles, podcasts (think 'podcast newsletter examples'!), books, or art that inspire you. Add your personal take. Creative Showcases: If you're an artist, writer, or maker, use it to share your latest work. Tips & Tutorials: If you have expertise, share quick guides. This could be anything from 'preschool newsletter ideas' for educators to 'project newsletter examples' for fellow creators. Interactive Elements: Ask your readers questions, run polls, or invite them to reply directly. This addresses the desire for 'interactive newsletter examples' and makes your subscribers feel heard. Behind-the-Scenes: Give a peek into your creative process or daily life. People love seeing the real person behind the content. Family/Community Updates: For those thinking of 'family newsletter examples' or 'college newsletter content ideas,' this is perfect for sharing milestones or upcoming events. Don't Overthink Design: While 'creative newsletter design' is a query, starting simple is totally fine! Focus on clear, engaging writing. You can always refine the aesthetics later. My early newsletters were very basic, but the message was there. Hit Send! (The Scariest Part): I held back for so long, concerned about 'view stats' and whether anyone would read. But the beautiful thing is, the people who subscribe want to hear from you. Even if it's just a few people initially, those are your true fans. Every time I hit send, I remind myself of that feeling of being 'scared to be myself' and how far I've come. Starting a newsletter is a journey, not a destination. It's about showing up consistently and authentically. Trust me, it's incredibly rewarding to connect with others through your words.
