Hey Lemon8 fam! I just got back from the most incredible Lake Michigan road trip and I'm still buzzing from all the amazing sights and experiences. If you're dreaming of an adventure around this majestic lake, you've come to the right place because I'm spilling all my secrets and must-do stops! First off, the beaches are an absolute dream. Imagine watching a serene sunset over the water, maybe even having a bonfire, with soft hues of orange and blue painting the sky. We spent hours just relaxing on the sandy shores. The views from the sandy bluffs, with green trees lining the coast, were breathtaking. We found so many spots perfect for a dip in the calm body of water, even spotting a small boat and some people swimming in the distance – truly idyllic! When it comes to fuel for your journey, you HAVE to stop at some of the local gems. One of my favorites was a charming spot like 'Milk & Honey Cafe & Ice Creamery'. Their 'LOCAL NATURAL ORGANIC GMO FREE' treats were exactly what we needed to recharge. It's so refreshing to find places that prioritize fresh, quality ingredients, and their ice cream was divine! Beyond the food, the towns around Lake Michigan are full of character. We stumbled upon the most enchanting green archway covered in vines leading into a garden area with a colorful art installation. It felt like stepping into a fairy tale! And speaking of unique art, you absolutely cannot miss 'Stanley the Sturgeon'. This incredible outdoor sculpture, made entirely from marine debris, really drives home the message of sustainability and the 'WASHED ASHORE' project. It's thought-provoking and a great photo op! No Lake Michigan road trip is complete without visiting a lighthouse. We found a stunning concrete pier extending into the water, with a distant lighthouse standing tall against a clear blue sky. The views from there were just spectacular. It's moments like these that make you appreciate the sheer beauty of the Great Lakes. A little tip from my trip: keep an eye out for wildflowers! I loved collecting a vibrant bouquet of freshly picked blooms – pink, red, and purple – and having them in a glass jar in the car. It just added an extra touch of natural beauty to our journey. And make sure to look up in some of the unique architectural spots; we even found ourselves under an awesome circular wooden ceiling structure, which was a cool unexpected discovery. Whether you're planning a full circle tour or just hitting a few spots, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore. There are so many things to do along Lake Michigan, from exploring quiet coves to bustling town centers. This road trip truly offers a diverse range of experiences. Pack comfy shoes, a good camera, and an open heart for adventure – you won't regret it!

Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes. It is the second largest lake of the five with its deepest point at 922 feet. Only 10% of Lake Michigan's floor has been explored. Lake Michigan is home to my diverse species of fish from trout to Sturgeon, as well as small and large mouth bass.
