When squeezed into finding a new job...Work and Holiday Baby Minute
Many people who come to Work and Holiday have experienced this moment.
The application was sent in ten, but no one called.
I gave out the resume all day, but the room came back with the word "I'll be in touch" that never really happened.
It's so easy to start doubting yourself.
That we don't speak English well enough
Is our experience too little?
Or actually... we're not good enough.
But the truth is,
"The job market doesn't revolve around us."
Maybe the store still doesn't need people.
Maybe we go wrong.
Or maybe... just not our place yet.
The moment was squeezed into fighting alone abroad.
This is "minute."
That we would give up and then go back.
Or biting your teeth, try another place, walk into another store, send another one.
Because in the end
The first job we got may not be the best.
But it will be the job that teaches us the most.
And the day we got it,
We'll look back at the "can't find a job."
And I know it's not the worst part.
But it's when we're "growing up unconscious."

จากประสบการณ์ตรงของผู้ที่ผ่านโครงการ Work and Holiday มา ช่วงที่ถูกบีบให้ต้องหางานใหม่จริง ๆ แล้วถือเป็นบททดสอบใจที่สำคัญอย่างมาก เพราะเราไม่ได้แค่ต่อสู้กับตลาดงาน แต่ยังต้องรับมือกับความรู้สึกท้อแท้และสงสัยในตัวเอง การส่งใบสมัครงานเป็นสิบที่แต่ไม่มีใครตอบกลับ หรือคำพูดที่ได้ยินซ้ำ ๆ ว่า “เดี๋ยวติดต่อกลับ” แต่ท้ายที่สุดก็ไม่มีใครโทรมา เป็นเรื่องที่ทำให้หลายคนเผชิญหน้ากับความรู้สึกเหมือนไม่มีค่า หรือไม่เหมาะสมกับตลาดงาน ซึ่งจริง ๆ แล้วมันไม่ได้เกิดจากความสามารถของเราอย่างเดียว แต่ตลาดก็มีปัจจัยภายนอกเช่นจังหวะเวลา ความต้องการของร้านค้า และสภาพเศรษฐกิจในพื้นที่ สิ่งที่ทำให้ผมผ่านช่วงเวลานี้มาได้คือการย้ำเตือนตัวเองว่า งานแรกที่ได้อาจไม่ใช่งานที่ดีที่สุด แต่อาจเป็นงานที่ให้บทเรียนและช่วยพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตมากที่สุด เช่น ทักษะภาษาอังกฤษ การจัดการกับเพื่อนร่วมงานที่มีความหลากหลาย หรือแม้แต่การเรียนรู้ความรับผิดชอบในหน้าที่อย่างแท้จริง อย่าหยุดเดินเข้าไปหาโอกาสใหม่ ๆ ต่อให้เจอความล้มเหลวบ้าง แต่ทุกการลองถือเป็นการเติบโตอย่างค่อยเป็นค่อยไปและช่วยเสริมความมั่นใจ นอกจากนี้ การสร้างเครือข่ายและพูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์กับคนอื่น ๆ ในโครงการ Work and Holiday ก็ช่วยให้ได้ข้อมูลและกำลังใจดี ๆ เพื่อเดินหน้าต่อ ท้ายที่สุด ช่วงเวลาของการหางานไม่ได้ไม่ได้หมายความว่าเป็นความล้มเหลว แต่เป็นช่วงเวลาที่เราเติบโตไปอย่างไม่รู้ตัว ทั้งด้านประสบการณ์และมุมมองชีวิต ซึ่งจะกลายเป็นรากฐานที่มั่นคงสำหรับอนาคตในการทำงานและการใช้ชีวิตในต่างประเทศ
