Pool Renovation
From Pea Gravel to our Prestigious Texture ✨

After finally tackling my big pool renovation project, moving from that old pea gravel to a gorgeous new texture, I felt like I had a blank canvas! The structural part was done, but now came the fun bit: bringing it to life with pool area decorating ideas. I wanted my space to feel like a true outdoor oasis, a place to relax and entertain, not just a place to swim. My first thought after the pool renovation was about comfort and functionality. What kind of outdoor furniture would best suit the new look? I opted for a mix of comfortable lounge chairs by the poolside and a small dining set under a stylish umbrella. Don't underestimate the power of good cushions and outdoor throw pillows! They instantly add a pop of color and make lounging so much more inviting. I even found a weatherproof outdoor rug that really tied the seating area together, giving it a cozy, indoor-room feel. Next, I focused on ambiance, especially for evening dips and gatherings. Lighting is key! I strung solar-powered fairy lights around my patio and added a few oversized lanterns with LED candles. For a touch of magic, I even got some floating LED lights for the pool itself. It completely transforms the mood once the sun goes down, making the pool area feel so chic and welcoming. I'm a big believer in bringing nature in, so plants were a must. Instead of just basic landscaping, I added large potted plants like palms and ferns around the perimeter. For a splash of color, I put vibrant flowering plants in smaller pots on side tables. This truly softens the hardscaping of the pool area and creates a lush, tropical vibe. If you have space, a small herb garden nearby is also a lovely touch for summer cooking! Finally, it's all about the details that make the space uniquely yours. I gathered some fun, colorful pool floats and neatly stored them in a stylish outdoor storage box that doubles as extra seating. Keeping a stack of plush, brightly colored towels readily available also adds to that resort-like feel. Think about adding a small outdoor bar cart for drinks or a weather-resistant piece of art on a nearby wall. These little touches really elevate the pool area from just a swimming spot to a beautifully curated outdoor living room. My pool renovation journey taught me that while the big structural changes are important, it's the decorating ideas that truly make the space shine. Take your time, experiment with different elements, and most importantly, create a pool area that makes you happy and reflects your personal style. You'll be amazed at how a few thoughtful additions can transform your backyard into your dream retreat!
