FLORIDA-STYLED FRIED CRAB LEGS!!!

These were so damn gooooodd! So here is the recipe you guys. Also a tip from me to you would be to make sure you have good, meaty claws so they’re succulent after coming out of the fryer.

What you need:

2 lbs of frozen crab legs

small bag of all purpose flour

2 tsp of Lemon juice

1 tablespoon of old bay

Parsley (dried)

4 cloves of garlic minced

2 tablespoons of Salted butter

canola oil to fry

2 eggs beaten for coating

Large bowl

Plastic bag

Highly recommend a deep fryer

Instructions:

1. Wash off the excess ice off of your crab legs and set them aside in a large bowl. Keeping them frozen helps them to retain the moisture while they are being fried.

2. Beat the eggs and dip the crab legs in them.

3. Mix the flour with the old bay together in a large plastic bag or bowl (optional). Dip the crab legs in the bowl of flour and make sure it’s evenly coated.

4. Turn on the fryer to 375 degrees.

5. Create the mixture for the lemon butter garlic sauce in a sauce pan. Melt the butter first, then add the garlic and sautee for 2 minutes. Then add lemon juice and parsley. Stir for about 4 minutes.

6. Place the crab legs in the fryer for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. You don’t want them to be overcooked and they don’t take long at all to cook.

7. Once out of the fryer, add your lemon garlic butter sauce all over and enjoy! 😉

... Read moreFlorida has long been celebrated for its delicious seafood, and one of the treats it offers is fried crab legs. This dish is not only a favorite among locals but also a must-try for visitors looking to savor the coastal flavors of the Sunshine State. The combination of meaty crab legs and the crispy coating enhances the delightful flavor experience. To elevate your fried crab legs, consider sourcing fresh, high-quality crab legs for the best taste. Dungeness crab or Alaskan King crab are popular choices and naturally lend a sweet flavor to the dish. When preparing your crab legs, remember that the frying process is quick; thus, keeping them frozen until ready to fry helps maintain their moisture and tenderness. Another great aspect of this dish is the versatility of the seasoning. Beyond Old Bay, you can experiment with Cajun spices or even a hint of chili powder for an extra kick. Pair your fried crab legs with side dishes that complement their rich taste, such as a side of coleslaw or spiced potatoes. Finally, serving with extra lemon wedges and the zesty lemon garlic butter sauce can truly elevate the dining experience, making your meal unforgettable.
