Manic Monday Challenge - slow it down 🫶

My favorite time of the day is the

quiet of the early morning.... just before the sun comes up and the hustle and bustle of the day begins....

I like to pretend the whole world is still asleep and peacefully dreaming. And for a short time, I have nowhere to be and no responsibilities except simply existing.

We spend so much of our lives rushing from one thing to the next, eyes fixed on a screen, always thinking about what's next or our never ending to-do list and we often fail to see the magic that's right in front of us.

An entire world is going on around us! A beautiful world.

Tiny dew drops suspended on silk.

The way the morning light catches a single thread.

A true masterpiece most people will walk past without ever seeing or appreciating.

I think that's what Bilbo meant when he said, "It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life." Simple things really do bring the most joy. And we each have our part to play in the universe. Some as tiny as a spider building his web. Others as big as the moon, endlessly pulling the waves to the shore.

No amount of technology, fame, fortune or social media likes could ever really make your soul feel the way all of Earth's natural treasures do. You'll never convince me otherwise.

We are so small. A tiny fleck in the universe. Our time here feels like the blink of an eye. There is so much to see and experience! We need to soak in as much as we can before our time is through.

So, today, I hope we all slow down a little - put our phones down, look around....and remember that there are so many extraordinary things all around us - happening right here, right now! Don't miss out 💕

Many of us rush through our days, glued to screens and driven by endless to-do lists, often missing the subtle beauty in everyday life. The early morning, especially before sunrise, offers a unique tranquility that feels almost sacred. I like to imagine the world is still asleep, wrapped in peaceful dreams while I take in the quiet. During these precious moments, I've noticed how tiny details—like dew drops clinging delicately to spider webs or the gentle way sunlight catches a single thread of a web—can bring an unexpected sense of wonder and calm. These small marvels serve as a gentle reminder of Bilbo Baggins' wisdom: "It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life." Embracing simplicity—whether through a slow morning routine or mindful observation—enables us to reconnect with the natural world and appreciate our place within it. In our technology-saturated lives, it's easy to feel disconnected, yet no amount of fame, fortune, or social media validation can replace the soul-deep satisfaction of witnessing nature’s beauty firsthand. Nature has a way of grounding us, reminding us that we are part of a vast, interconnected universe—each of us contributing like the spider weaving its web or the moon pulling the tides. If you’re striving to reduce stress or find more joy, consider dedicating time each day to unplug and truly observe the extraordinary around you. Whether it’s the quiet before dawn or a walk in a local park, these moments can be transformative. I’ve found that slowing down not only nurtures gratitude but also fuels creativity and mental clarity. Ultimately, living slowly means being present—seeing the art in a dewdrop, feeling the rhythm of nature, and honoring the simplicity that brings genuine joy. Letting go of constant rushing opens the door to appreciating life's natural treasures fully before our fleeting time passes. So today, take a breath, put your phone away, and allow yourself to be captivated by the extraordinary magic happening right here, right now.
