The peace you want starts with what you stop tolerating..

The older I get, the more I realize peace isn't something you find.

It's something you protect.

Sometimes that means disappointing people.

Sometimes that means walking away.

And sometimes it simply means choosing yourself for the first time in a long time.

What's one thing you've stopped tolerating that brought you more peace? 🤍

... Read moreOver time, I’ve noticed that peace truly starts with the boundaries we set—deciding what behaviors and situations we no longer tolerate. For me, one of the biggest shifts was learning to say no without guilt. Constantly trying to please everyone left me feeling exhausted and emotionally drained. When I stopped tolerating people who only reached out when they needed something, I reclaimed my energy and mental space. Another eye-opening experience was recognizing that I don’t have to earn rest or respect; they are my right. This perspective change allowed me to protect my peace actively instead of waiting for permission or circumstance. Walking away from toxic conversations or relationships—even if it disappointed others—became a radical act of self-care. I also found that peace doesn’t always feel like a blissful emotion but often a deliberate, sometimes uncomfortable, decision. Choosing myself first was scary at first, but it quickly became liberating. I started to appreciate that peace comes more from removing stressors than adding distractions or busyness. Using reminders, like inspirational wallpapers or mantras, can be powerful daily nudges to protect your peace. Seeing a message on my phone screen each day helped reinforce the habit of choosing myself and setting clear limits. Ultimately, stopping tolerance of what steals your calm—be it constant explanations, energy-draining people, or carrying others’ emotional burdens—can transform your life. I encourage you to reflect on what you’ve stopped tolerating that brought you peace and consider what new boundaries you might set to protect your well-being every day.

“Love does not excuse disrespect”
Protecting your peace is part of self-growth. Love, loyalty, or shared blood never justify crossed boundaries. Choosing self-respect—even with family—is not rebellion, it’s maturity. Growth begins when you stop tolerating what diminishes you. #SelfGrowth #Boundaries #SelfRespect #Heali

You get what you tolerate
Years ago, Amanda Robbins was coaching me, and she said something that hit me so hard I still replay it to this day: “You get what you tolerate.” That line has stuck with me ever since. Because it’s true—we say we want more, want better, want change… but we keep tolerating the same things and
