Back to school: Lash & PMU edition 🎀✨
Going back to school at 31 is a whole different ball game than 13. 🥹 I swear if I had the focus I have now back when I was studying for my O-levels and degree, I would have been a straight A student. 🎓
Every single photo here is a core memory from my training. The transition from a senior role in Interior Design to being the new girl with a lash mapping pen was a total trip, but exactly the reset I needed. 🧘🏻♀️
The Course Reality
1) The Precision: Coming from an ID background, I thought I knew "detail." 📐 Then I met brow mapping. I spent 30 minutes just making sure the shape wasn’t wonky. 🤲✒️
2) Fine Motor Skills: Picking up a single 0.10mm lash extension from a tray? My hands had to learn a whole new language of patience. 🙇🏻♀️
3) The Focus: No multitasking, no scattered brain. Just hours and hours of quiet and intense practice. Learning the art of perfect placement and the patience of ensuring every area is covered with the tattoo needle. 💉
4) The "Physical" Art: Back/neck pain, finger cramps, and hands that were literally shaking during my very first models. 🥲
Why I’m sharing the "ugly" practice phase:
Mastery isn't an overnight thing. It’s built in these classrooms, on these practice pads, and through the nerves of working on those first few faces. 🫶🏻
I’m still learning new things every single day, but it’s incredibly fulfilling to look back and see the improvements from Day 1 to Day 100. 📈✨
I’m taking every single lesson, every cramp, and every shaking hand to make @prettysetgo.studio a precise, design-led sanctuary for your face. 🚀
To anyone starting new: Don't be afraid to be a beginner again. 🕊️ Starting over isn't a "setback", it's an upgrade. 💎 You might not have the same energy you had at 13, but you'll have a precision and intentionality now that your younger self couldn't dream of. 🥂
