How to swap out your skincare from summer to fall🍂

Fall is around the corner which means it’s almost time to switch out for different skincare products. During the summer I like to use lightweight or gel like products because of the heat. In the fall my skin tends to get super dry!👀

My skincare products for the fall:

- milky toners

- liquid exfoliators

- thick cream

- hydrating face mist

What’s your go to skincare products in the fall?👀

... Read moreJust like my wardrobe, my skincare routine undergoes a significant transformation as the seasons change! After a summer filled with lightweight gels and oil-free formulas to combat the heat and humidity, my skin quickly starts to feel tight and uncomfortable once the crisp autumn air rolls in. I’ve learned the hard way that sticking to my summer routine in fall only leads to a dull, flaky complexion and increased sensitivity. It’s all about adapting to the environment, right? The drop in humidity and cooler temperatures literally suck the moisture out of my skin, making an immediate summer to fall skincare swap absolutely essential. My biggest game-changer for fall is undoubtedly a good hydrating toner. During summer, I might opt for a balancing or clarifying toner, but come fall, my skin craves that extra layer of moisture right after cleansing. I look for formulas packed with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides. Applying a hydrating toner helps to restore my skin's pH balance and acts like a magnet, drawing in moisture from subsequent products. I've noticed a huge difference in how my serums and thick creams absorb when I don't skip this step – my skin feels instantly plumper and less parched, setting the stage for extra fall hydration. Next up is gentle exfoliation. While summer might call for slightly stronger treatments to deal with sweat and oil buildup, colder fall weather means my skin is more prone to dryness and flakiness. That's why I switch to a gentle liquid exfoliator. Instead of harsh physical scrubs that can exacerbate dryness, a mild AHA or PHA solution works wonders to gently slough off dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion without stripping my skin. I usually use this a few times a week, always followed by a good moisturizer. The image shows a 'small dropper bottle of liquid exfoliator', which is exactly what I use for targeted application. And then comes the hero of my fall routine: the thick cream or rich cream. Gone are the days of lightweight lotions! As the image highlights, 'swapping light summer moisturizers for thick, heavy creams at night for extra fall hydration' is key. I layer a generous amount of a deeply nourishing moisturizer, especially at night. Look for reparative ingredients like shea butter, squalane, and fatty acids to fortify your skin's barrier. This helps to lock in all the moisture from my hydrating toner and serums, protecting my skin from the harsh elements. I sometimes even use a slightly lighter version during the day if my skin is feeling particularly dry. Finally, for an on-the-go pick-me-up, I always keep a hydrating mist handy. The image encourages 'using a hydrating mist for additional moisture during the fall season,' and I couldn't agree more! Whether I'm feeling a little tight after a long day or need to refresh my makeup, a few spritzes of a good hydrating mist instantly revitalizes my skin. It’s a wonderful way to layer hydration throughout the day without disturbing my makeup. Beyond products, I also make sure to keep a humidifier running in my bedroom and drink plenty of water. Even though the sun isn't as intense, I never skip my SPF! What are your absolute non-negotiables for a successful summer to fall skincare swap? I'd love to hear your tips for keeping your skin happy and hydrated as the seasons change!

Affordable Skincare for autumn, yes please. If you want not to spend much of your budget, I recommend going to Dollar Tree and stock up on these products for the season. The quality is excellent. #lemon8challenge #fallskincare #lemon8beautycrew #fallbeauty #roxyskincare
