... Read moreAs someone who struggles with dry skin in the winter months, I’ve found that carefully layering my skincare products makes a huge difference. Starting with a milky toner is gentle yet hydrating, which preps my skin for the next steps without stripping moisture. Following up with a vitamin C serum adds brightness and antioxidant protection, which is essential when the cold air and indoor heating threaten to dull your complexion. One key product I don’t skip is a thick moisturizer, like the Barrier Butter from Ole Henriksen, which contains peptides and ceramides. These ingredients help to strengthen my skin barrier and lock in moisture. In my experience, this step is the cornerstone of keeping skin plump and comfortable despite harsh winter conditions. Applying sunscreen—even on cloudy and cold days—is vital. I use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen designed for dry skin, like Kiehl’s Dermatologist UV Defense, to shield my skin from UV rays and prevent further damage while outdoors. Last but not least, a nourishing lip balm with natural butters and peptides protects my lips from chapping, completing the routine. Throughout the winter, I note that layering these specific products in the order of milky toner, vitamin C serum, thick moisturizer, sunscreen, and lip balm not only keeps my skin hydrated and soothed but also gives it a subtle glow despite the cold environment. For anyone adjusting their winter skincare, I highly recommend incorporating products rich in calming and moisturizing ingredients, such as peptides, ceramides, and natural butters, to maintain healthy skin during the dry months. What’s your go-to winter skincare layering routine? Sharing tips can help all of us keep our skin healthy and radiant no matter how chilly it gets!
