Coachella recovery routine for dry, damaged skin
Coachella is officially here!! Coachella takes place in the dry hot desert which can be brutal on your skin! You’re out all day in sun which really can damage and dry out your skin. This is the routine I would do to recover my skin after Coachella!
My recovery routine:
- tower 28 mist: kill any bacteria that’s on your face
- the ordinary soothing & barrier support serum to help my skin barrier
- weleda cream: super thick cream that is great at hydrating the skin
- abib wrapping mask: to seal everything in, this mask is great for putting on overnight and have all the products sink in.
Let me know if you try this routine out!!

After spending long hours under the harsh desert sun during Coachella, I found that my skin often felt tight, dehydrated, and sensitive. Initially, I thought just washing my face and applying a regular moisturizer would be enough, but over time I realized that a more dedicated recovery routine was essential to properly heal and restore my skin’s natural barrier. One of the first products I added was a hypochlorous acid mist like Tower 28 Daily Rescue Facial Spray. This didn't just refresh my face but also helped to eliminate bacteria that could worsen any damage or cause irritation. This mist became a refreshing step right after cleansing both morning and night. Following the mist, I incorporated The Ordinary's Soothing & Barrier Support Serum. It contains nourishing ingredients that help repair and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, which is often compromised due to sun exposure and dryness at outdoor festivals like Coachella. This step was crucial because it boosted hydration and helped my skin recover its resilience against environmental stressors. Next, I used the Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream. This thick, plant-extract-based cream felt incredibly nourishing. Applying a generous layer helped lock in moisture and soothe dryness. I noticed my skin becoming softer and less flaky after just a few nights. Finally, my favorite step was using the Abib wrapping mask overnight. This mask contains collagen, Jericho rose extract, copper peptides, and several reparative ingredients that promote skin regeneration. Wearing this mask sealed all the previous products into my skin, enhancing their absorption and efficacy while I slept. I woke up with plumper, more hydrated skin each morning. If you’re planning a long day in the sun or also facing dry, damaged skin after outdoor events, I highly recommend trying this routine. It worked wonders for me, especially when consistent. Remember, repairing your skin barrier is key to preventing long-term damage and keeping your skin healthy and glowing post-festival.
