Am I doing too much to my skin??

Sometimes when I’m doing my nighttime routine I wonder am I even doing this correctly and why am I using this product? Is anyone like that or is that just me…😅

I don’t want to mix too many products to get a weird reaction but at the same time I want my face to look it’s best!

Let me know if my nighttime routine is good how it is or if I should change a step or product! I don’t want to be over doing it!

... Read moreFrom my experience, it’s easy to get caught up in using many skincare products at night, hoping to see faster results. However, using too many active ingredients, especially potent serums like those with mandelic acid or salicylic acid, can sometimes do more harm than good. For example, acids can exfoliate skin effectively but also increase sensitivity if not used carefully. In the nighttime routine OCR content, I noticed products like Caudalie’s Eau de Raisin (Grape Water) and Clarins Double Serum, which are excellent for hydration and anti-aging, and Versed’s Gentle Pore Clearing Serum containing mandelic and salicylic acid. These are great choices but layering several active products might cause irritation or defeat your goal of a healthy glow. From my own skincare journey, I suggest introducing new products one at a time to monitor how your skin reacts. Start with a gentle cleanser, followed by a hydrating toner or essence like grape water to soothe sensitive skin, then apply a single serum targeting your main concern – whether it’s anti-aging or pore refining. Finish with a rich moisturizer like Caudalie Premier Cru La Crème Riche to lock in moisture overnight. Another tip is to consider product texture and absorbency. Using a lightweight serum before a rich cream ensures better layering and prevents pilling or heaviness. Also, don’t overlook the importance of patch testing to avoid adverse reactions when combining multiple products. Ultimately, the key is to keep your routine simple and consistent. Overloading your skin with many products can disrupt its natural barrier, leading to dryness, redness, or breakouts. I remember when I first started layering too many treatments, my skin became irritated and dull. After simplifying my routine to just essential hydrating and targeted treatment steps, my skin improved significantly. So, if you’re asking, 'Am I doing too much to my skin?' — the answer might be yes if your skin feels sensitive or reacts negatively. Focus on effective, gentle products, introduce them gradually, and always listen to your skin’s needs. This approach will help you maintain a healthy, glowing complexion without the risk of overdoing it.
