Doctor Slump: 10/10. If you haven’t watched it… what are you doing?
Kill Boksoon: 100000/10. This one is a movie, but it’s action packed. Fire plot. Camera work🤌🏼. I love action movies with women as leads.
Sweet Home: 1000000/10. SONG KANG!😫😫. He so fine. But I love how versatile he is as an actor. I loved “My Demon” and “Nevertheless”. I can’t wait for season 3 of Sweet home.
Business Proposal: 10/10 I think everyone has seen this😭. Sejeong is so pretty 🤩
Little Women: 9/10. I loved this one. I’m a lil mad that there wasn’t any romance between her and Do-Il, but wtv. Ending was crazy, but I liked it.
Daily Does of Sunshine: 10/10. Really shows how working in the healthcare field can take a hold on your mental health. Especially when you get close with the patients.
Everyone Loves Me: 10/10. So cuteee. I love when the ML falls really hard and the FL isn’t, so he does everyone he can to get her to like him😂.
Have y’all seen these? And what do you think about it? Also please recommend me some🫶🏼
... Read moreOkay, so you've seen 'Doctor Slump' popping up everywhere, and you're curious, maybe even looking at the posters? Let me tell you, that 10/10 rating from the original post is absolutely deserved! When I first saw the promotional image – you know, the one with the two actors, a woman and a man, sitting and eating popsicles in front of that vibrant pink vending machine – I was immediately drawn in. It just perfectly captured that blend of lightheartedness and underlying melancholy that defines the show. It's a visual metaphor for their past sweetness and current struggles.
'Doctor Slump' isn't just another romantic comedy; it dives deep into the struggles of mental health, career burnout, and finding your way back to yourself after hitting rock bottom. Starring the incredible Park Hyung-sik and Park Shin-hye, their chemistry is off the charts, but it's their individual journeys and growth that truly resonate. As actors, both have a fantastic range, and watching them portray characters dealing with such relatable, human vulnerabilities was truly captivating. Park Shin-hye, known for roles like 'The Heirs' and 'Pinocchio,' brings a deep emotional intelligence to her character, while Park Hyung-sik, from 'Strong Girl Bong-soon' and 'Happiness,' perfectly balances charm with profound sadness. Seeing them reunite after 'The Heirs' was a treat, and their mature performances really shone through.
The storyline follows two former high school rivals who, after achieving great success as doctors, both face severe setbacks in their careers and personal lives. Yeo Jeong-woo (Park Hyung-sik) is a star plastic surgeon whose career is suddenly derailed by a mysterious medical accident, and Nam Ha-neul (Park Shin-hye) is a brilliant anesthesiologist suffering from burnout and depression. They end up living in the same rooftop apartment building, rediscovering their connection and slowly starting to heal each other. It’s a beautiful portrayal of friendship evolving into something more, all while tackling serious themes with a delicate touch. The way the drama handles anxiety and depression is particularly commendable – it's realistic without being overly dramatized, offering comfort and understanding to anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed by life's pressures.
Beyond the compelling plot and stellar acting, the visual storytelling, much like that iconic promotional image, is fantastic. The cinematography often reflects the characters' emotional states, shifting from bright and hopeful during their happier moments to subdued and reflective during their internal struggles. The set design, from their cozy rooftop homes to the hospital environments, feels authentic and adds to the immersive experience. If you're looking for a drama that offers both heartwarming romance and a meaningful exploration of human struggles, 'Doctor Slump' is a must-watch. It’s the kind of show that stays with you long after the credits roll, reminding you that it’s okay not to be okay, and that healing is a journey worth taking. Seriously, if you haven't started it yet, what are you waiting for? It's a genuine gem on Netflix that truly deserves all the praise it gets!
