Grief led my Bible study this week…

This week, I didn’t follow a plan…

I followed what my heart needed.

I’ve been missing my sons, mother, & other family members,

and there’s a kind of ache that words don’t fully explain.

But then I came across this reminder—that this feeling… this deep longing…

is a groaning for our heavenly home.

A place where there’s no separation.

No pain.

No goodbyes.

It doesn’t take the missing away…

but it reminds me this isn’t the end of our story.

So this week, I’m sitting in that truth.

Reading what speaks to this season… not a schedule.

🤍 If you’ve been feeling that ache too… you’re not alone..

Comment “HOME” if you understand this feeling.

I found that turning to Scripture, especially passages about our eternal home, brought a new perspective and solace during such times. The Bible passages I revisited reveal heaven not simply as a distant, impersonal place but as a deeply personal promise—a prepared home by Christ Himself with many rooms, where there is no more pain, separation, or goodbyes. From John 14:2-3, where Jesus comforts His disciples by assuring them of His Father’s house with many dwelling places, to Revelation 21:1-5 that describes a new heaven and a new earth with no tears or suffering, these scriptures invite us to hold on to hope beyond our present sorrow. 1 Corinthians 2:9 reminds us that what God has prepared far surpasses anything our minds can imagine, which, although hard to fully grasp, encourages us to envision a beautiful future reunion with loved ones. What helped me most was embracing the idea that our earthly grief reflects a deeper longing—a groaning—for our eternal home. Like an artist restoring a masterpiece, God is making all things new and perfecting creation. This assurance can shape how we view our lives, helping us live as citizens of heaven currently residing on earth, carrying the hope of that future reality with us. This kind of Bible study, guided by the heart’s needs rather than a rigid plan, can gently reveal truths that speak directly to the pain and hope within. For anyone feeling a similar ache, remember you are not alone, and the promise of heaven offers a comforting perspective that transforms grief into patient expectation. Sitting with these feelings, and reflecting on God’s eternal promise, can bring peace and renewed strength in seasons of loss.
