Your circle can either heal you or drain you.✅
I started realizing that some people only show up to complain, gossip, discourage, or drain the joy out of everything. You leave conversations feeling heavy instead of inspired.
At some point, you have to choose your peace, your mindset, and your growth over staying connected to negativity. Not everybody can go where God is trying to take you.
The people around you should push you higher, pray for you, motivate you, and celebrate your progress… not constantly remind you why something won’t work.
Protect your environment. Protect your energy. Protect your future. 🌸
In my own experience, I've noticed that the quality of the people around me directly affects how I feel and what I achieve. When I spent time with those who constantly brought negativity—whether through complaining, gossiping, or doubting my goals—I often felt deflated and unmotivated. The quote recognized by Joel Osteen, "You cannot expect to live a positive life if you hang with negative people," really resonated with me and was a turning point. I realized that maintaining a positive environment meant being intentional about who I allowed into my inner circle. This meant sometimes having difficult but necessary conversations or even distancing myself from relationships that no longer served my growth. Instead, being surrounded by friends or colleagues who celebrated my progress, motivated me during challenges, and prayed for my success brought a tangible uplift to my spirit and mindset. Protecting my environment meant setting boundaries to guard my energy. For example, I chose not to engage deeply in conversations that felt draining or to step away from social settings where pessimism dominated. Choosing my peace wasn’t always easy, especially when it meant missing out on social interactions, but it was essential for my mental and emotional well-being. I also found that when I pushed myself to remain positive and focused on growth, my circle naturally started to reflect these values. Like attracts like, so the more I practiced gratitude, positivity, and ambition, the more I drew similar energy towards me. This cultivation of a supportive circle gave me the confidence to pursue goals I once thought were unattainable. Ultimately, your social circle can be a powerful force for healing and motivation or a source of constant emotional drain. Protecting your energy, environment, and future involves consciously choosing relationships that foster growth rather than hinder it.
