Stop feeding what you don't want to grow.🌱💯
The enemy wants your attention on fear, worry, and discouragement. God calls us to fix our eyes on Him.
When you focus on God's promises instead of your problems, your perspective changes.
You may not control every circumstance, but you can choose where your mind stays.
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." — Colossians 3:2
🙏 What's one promise from God you're choosing to focus on today?
In my personal journey, I've found that what you focus on indeed shapes your reality. The saying, "YOU GET WHAT YOU FOCUS ON," perfectly encapsulates this truth. When I started consciously directing my thoughts away from fear and negativity and instead meditated on uplifting promises from God, my mindset and outlook changed dramatically. One technique I've used is to write down a promise from Scripture each morning—something to fix my eyes on throughout the day. For example, reflecting on Colossians 3:2, "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things," reminds me to prioritize spiritual growth over transient worries. This practice helps in resisting distractions and discouragements that naturally arise in daily life. It's important to recognize that while we can't control every event or circumstance, we can control how much attention we give to them. By not 'feeding' fear or anxiety—meaning not giving these thoughts repeated attention—we prevent them from taking root and growing. Instead, by nourishing hope, faith, and positive focus, we allow these qualities to flourish. Try incorporating moments of mindfulness and prayer to reset your mental focus when you feel overwhelmed. Over time, this habit can reinforce a more peaceful and resilient internal state. Remember, you’re training your mind just like a garden; only what you water will grow. Choosing to focus daily on God’s promises can cultivate joy, strength, and peace in ways that transform your life from within.
