What I made for lunch as a college student
I have been focusing on making more home cooked meals and consuming more Whole Foods! As a college student time is limited for me some days and this bowl works well with my schedule. This bowl took about 20 minutes to put together and is high in protein!
TIPS
-cottage cheese adds more protein. I hate cottage cheese up until I made this bowl and I’m a fan of eating it this way.
-93/7 beef has the same Marcos as ground turkey and ground chicken. I prefer beef over chicken and turkey.
-if you need more fat add avocado.
-this bowl also works well with rice
-Top the bowl with whatever makes your heart happy.

When it comes to college life, balancing nutrition with a busy schedule can be challenging. This high-protein lunch bowl is a fantastic solution for students who need a quick, wholesome meal without sacrificing health benefits. Including cottage cheese in the meal adds a creamy texture and an extra protein punch, which is essential for muscle repair and energy during hectic days. Although cottage cheese isn't loved by everyone, pairing it with flavorful ingredients such as seasoned ground beef and tender potatoes can make it surprisingly enjoyable. The choice of 93/7 lean ground beef is smart for maintaining high protein levels while keeping fat relatively low, similar to ground turkey and chicken, but with a richer flavor profile. Adding avocado is a great tip for those looking to increase healthy fats, which support brain function and keep you satiated longer between meals. Incorporating whole foods like potatoes and the option to serve this bowl with rice provides complex carbohydrates that release energy steadily, helping maintain focus during studying or classes. Additionally, topping the bowl with your favorite veggies or a splash of hot sauce can personalize the flavor and boost nutrient intake. For college students juggling academics and social life, meal prepping variations of this bowl can save time throughout the week and ensure consistent nutrient consumption. Whether you prefer the hearty taste of ground beef or want to switch to turkey for a leaner option, this recipe is versatile and easy to adjust. It's a perfect example of how mindful cooking can fit into a student’s lifestyle, promoting growth, recovery, and sustained energy.
