Missing the mark
I have a strong desire to have a person “ to do life with” as they put it.
I can’t help but believe that I may have missed the mark.
Everyone is either in love or angry at it.
For me I’m in between.
Having never been “in love” doesn’t give me a right to be angry.
So, I bottle my emptiness in so deep that I forget that its even there
I watch sad movies once a month to cry.
It reminds me I am human
I need that, often.
Remembering that I am here.
This really sounds sad af
But I feel this is a safe space
I don’t know all the answers
And quite frankly, I’m tired of pretending
that I do

In a world where emotions are often bottled up, embracing vulnerability can be a powerful remedy. Many individuals experience a range of feelings from loneliness to the longing for deeper connections. It's essential to understand that being honest about one's emotions not only facilitates personal growth but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. Pop culture frequently addresses these themes, demonstrating that even through art, the exploration of love and loss resonates universally. Watching sad movies, for instance, can provide a cathartic experience, allowing individuals to process their own emotions. This shared experience can ultimately lead to more profound conversations about feelings and the challenges of human connection. Moreover, social media has become a platform for many to express their vulnerabilities openly. Hashtags like #embracevulnerability and #LoveYourself have empowered users to share their narratives, creating safe spaces for dialogue. By tackling the stigma associated with vulnerability, communities can unite, offering support and understanding. Additionally, understanding the importance of emotional intelligence cannot be overstated. Individuals who recognize and articulate their feelings are more likely to foster strong relationships, as this authenticity attracts like-minded people. Learning to navigate emotions, especially in difficult times, is a skill that benefits everyone. By rejecting the notion that vulnerability equates to weakness, society can move toward more supportive and genuine connections. Sharing experiences and being open about feelings can pave the way for meaningful friendships and love, reminding us all that we are not alone in our struggles.
