Adornment 🦋

🔮The definition of adornment is “ an accessory or ornament worn to enhance the beauty or status of the wearer”.

🔮As a #glamour #witch the purpose of this magic (I believe) is to enhance and uplift yourself and those around you. That includes being an eye catching delight. A worthy and exciting experience that you and others enjoy looking at on a daily basis.

🔮Precious stones have been used for the purposes of adornment for over 7,000 years. Our ancient ancestors decorated themselves with colors of gemstones that made them look like the beauty that they radiated. Crystals and stones that amplified the energy of the wearer as well as protected their space and drew in opportunity and messages from above (or below).

🔮Sure, diamonds are a girl’s best friend…..but Rubies are a queens closest companion. Explore the uniqueness of the jewelry around you and adorn yourself with ones that make you feel special and beautiful.

📲Some Crystals to consider:

🦚Lapis Lazuli

• Symbolism: Lapis Lazuli represented royalty, wisdom, and spiritual enlightenment. It was believed to connect the wearer to the heavens and promote inner vision.

• Cultural Use: Widely used by Egyptian royalty, Lapis Lazuli was often worn as jewelry and also used in burial tombs.

🦚Turquoise

• Symbolism: Turquoise symbolizes protection, strength, and good fortune. It was also considered a symbol of wealth and power.

• Cultural Use: Egyptian and Roman elites wore turquoise as a symbol of their high status. It was believed to bring peace and harmony.

🦚Emerald

• Symbolism: Emeralds symbolize rebirth, fertility, and vitality. They were also thought to bring the wearer wisdom, love, and calm.

• Cultural Use: In ancient Egypt, Cleopatra was famously known for her love of emeralds. They were worn by royalty as a sign of status and opulence.

🦚Amethyst

• Symbolism: Amethyst was believed to prevent intoxication, bringing clarity, and mental balance. It was also considered a symbol of power and wealth.

• Cultural Use: Both the Egyptians and Romans valued amethyst, using it in rings, amulets, and crowns.

🦚Carnelian

• Symbolism: Carnelian symbolizes vitality, courage, and action. It was believed to enhance personal power and strength.

• Cultural Use: Romans often used carnelian in signet rings and seals to signify authority and leadership.

🦚Onyx

• Symbolism: Onyx represents strength, protection, and grounding. It was thought to help the wearer overcome challenges and increase self-confidence.

• Cultural Use: Romans favored onyx for cameos and rings, often associating it with authority and the military.

🦚Goldstone

• Symbolism: Goldstone is a symbol of ambition, energy, and transformation. It was believed to amplify the wearer’s intentions and desires.

• Cultural Use: While not native to ancient times, its glimmering appearance made it a symbol of luxury and status in more recent history.

🦚Obsidian

• Symbolism: Obsidian was used for protection, grounding, and healing. It was believed to ward off negative energy and bring clarity to the wearer.

• Cultural Use: Egyptians and Romans used obsidian for mirrors and decorative items, signifying both protection and beauty.

🦚Alexandrite

• Symbolism: Alexandrite is a symbol of change, transformation, and spiritual growth. It was thought to aid in manifesting desires.

• Cultural Use: Though more commonly associated with later periods, its changing color was considered magical and powerful.

🦚Garnet

• Symbolism: Garnets were a symbol of passion, love, and vitality. They were also believed to offer protection during travel.

• Cultural Use: Both the Egyptians and Romans used garnets in jewelry, believing they provided protection and luck.

... Read moreAdornment has been a pivotal aspect of human culture for millennia. Human beings have adorned themselves for more than 7,000 years, using various materials from simple beads to intricate gold jewelry. Historically, gemstones and crystals not only served aesthetic purposes but were believed to possess metaphysical properties that promote healing, protection, and enhancement of one’s aura. For example, Lapis Lazuli was utilized by ancient Egyptians not only for adornment but also as a tool for spiritual connection and enlightenment. Similarly, Turquoise has been revered by many cultures as a stone of protection and good fortune, often worn by warriors and leaders. The concept of adornment transcends mere vanity. It symbolizes personal expression and identity. Jewelry is often given as gifts to mark significant life events—engagements, anniversaries, or to honor loved ones. Each piece carries stories and emotions, embedding significance in our adornment choices. Whether you choose to wear a piece for its aesthetic appeal or its energetic properties, the act of adorning oneself becomes a ritual of self-care and empowerment. In modern times, the resurgence of interest in holistic living has led many to reevaluate their adornment practices. Individuals are now embracing ethically sourced crystals and handcrafted jewelry that resonate with their personal journeys. As we adorn ourselves, we remind ourselves of our worth and beauty, allowing these pieces to not only enhance our appearance but also inspire confidence and uplift our spirits. Thus, the art of adornment continues to evolve, intertwining tradition with contemporary values.
