my experience working as a barista ☕️

i left the company almost three months ago and although i miss it at times, i feel soooo much better!! here are some things from my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE working there (everyone will have a different experience ofc)

when i first started, i loved it and i actually enjoyed interacting with all the customers… but overtime they just really beat the energy and joy out of me. it really takes a toll when customers don’t have mannerisms or respect towards you when you’re literally serving them every little thing they want 😞

now the only thing that kept me sane and that really kept me there were my coworkers. we had inside jokes, we motivated each other, and they became like a second family to me.

in the end it was management that was the issue at my store. during my two and a half years working at my store, i had four different store managers and five if you include the interim. after my second manager left things just really went downhill from there. the schedule was always a mess, things were always breaking, it was roughhh.

i left cause i just couldn’t do the 4am shifts no more and didn’t agree with the way the latest manager was running things 💔

idk maybe in another life it woulda worked out better but all i can say is i miss making coffee and I can’t wait to have my own place one day so I can have my own espresso machine!!!!!

... Read moreWorking as a barista can be a rewarding yet challenging experience. Many baristas enjoy the creativity involved in crafting drinks and the social interaction with customers. However, the job can also be physically demanding, with long hours and early shifts impacting work-life balance. Customer service is at the heart of being a barista, but managing difficult customers can be exhausting. A supportive work environment, such as having good coworkers, makes a significant difference. With the rise of specialty coffee shops and unique coffee cultures, baristas are often learning new techniques and expanding their skills. Those considering this career should weigh the passion for coffee against the realities of the job. Sharing these experiences benefits aspiring baristas and sheds light on a often glamorized profession.
